Guangxi International Business Vocational and Technical College is a state-run full-time higher vocational college with the purpose of cultivating international application talents that meet the needs of the development of modern business. It is the cradle of managers in Guangxi's business industry. The school was formerly the Guangxi Foreign Trade Part-time School founded in 1965. It was named Guangxi Foreign Trade School in 1978 and renamed Guangxi Foreign Economic and Trade School in 1984. In 2002, it was approved by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and upgraded and renamed Guangxi International Business Vocational and Technical College on the basis of Guangxi Foreign Economic and Trade School. The administrative authority of the school is the Department of Commerce of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the education and teaching business is guided and managed by the Department of Education of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school fully implements the party's education policy, implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, insists on educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country, and is committed to building a strong international higher vocational education school with distinctive modern business characteristics. The school currently has three campuses in Nanning University Road, ASEAN Economic Development Zone and Mingxiu Road, with more than 23,000 full-time higher vocational students. The total area is more than 1,200 acres, the campus building area is 630,300 square meters, and the teaching and training rooms are 259,500 square meters; the library has a paper collection of 1.112 million books and nearly 753,600 electronic books; there are more than 5,400 computers for teaching, and 11,700 seats in multimedia classrooms and language laboratories; there are 3 central financial support training bases, 9 autonomous region demonstration training bases, 1 Guangxi National Culture Inheritance and Innovation Vocational Education Base, and 133 off-campus training bases. The school currently has 1,043 faculty members, including more than 500 dual-qualified teachers, more than 130 teachers with senior professional titles, 1 national model teacher, 4 outstanding teachers of the autonomous region, 3 teaching masters at the autonomous region level, 3 outstanding teaching teams at the autonomous region level, 1 second-level candidate of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region "New Century Ten Hundred Thousand Talents Project", 20 doctoral students (including those currently studying), and 454 master's students. A group of foreign teachers, high-level experts from enterprises, and professional and technical personnel with rich practical experience are hired as part-time teachers all year round. The school recruits students nationwide, with an annual enrollment plan of more than 10,000 people. The initial placement rate of graduates is higher than that of similar colleges and universities in Guangxi, and the employers have a high satisfaction rate with graduates. It has been rated as an outstanding unit for employment of ordinary college graduates in Guangxi for 20 consecutive years. The school focuses on talent cultivation, focuses on the fundamental task of cultivating talents with moral integrity, vigorously practices the concept of talent cultivation of business talents with "three colors" (professional background, entrepreneurial nature, and international characteristics), and continuously promotes the cultivation of "four beliefs" (faith, belief, confidence, and credit). With the "SPADE" five-dimensional quality assurance system (five "specialties" for teacher development, five "strengths" for professional construction, five "reaches" for student growth, five "degrees" for curriculum construction, and five "emphasises" for school development), it strives to build a "five-level advanced" (professional cognition period, virtual business war period, actual combat training period, internship period, and post training period) practical teaching system to cultivate high-quality international business application talents who "know business, know courtesy, excel in business, and respect business and have virtues" to meet the needs of the development of modern business careers. There are 13 secondary colleges and 50 majors (including directions). It has 5 Guangxi vocational education demonstration specialty majors and training base projects, and the cross-border business professional group is a high-level professional group of Guangxi's "Double High Plan". There are 4 majors supported by central government funds, 8 high-quality majors in the autonomous region, 7 integrated construction projects of featured majors and courses, 4 key majors recognized by the Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education, 1 productive training base, and 1 collaborative innovation center. The school took the lead in establishing the Guangxi Business Vocational Education Group and was selected as the second batch of demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation units of the Ministry of Education. It has co-built 4 industrial colleges with high-quality enterprises, deepened the integration of production and education, and dual education of schools and enterprises, and was approved for 24 "1+X" certificate system pilots and 4 district-level pilots. The school actively expands educational cooperation with countries along the "Belt and Road", conducts cooperation and exchanges with more than 40 overseas universities, and has recruited 439 international students by 2022. The overseas branch "Guihai Business School" was established, and two Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, China-Canada and China-Germany, were approved. It was identified as a regional cooperation pilot unit for the Guangxi Modern Vocational Education Development Demonstration Project, and was selected as the first batch of "Jingshi International Schools" in the "Humanities Exchange Jingshi Project" of the Ministry of Education. It has also become a pilot institution for the UK NARIC British Higher Vocational Education International Professional Standards Assessment and Certification Program. As the only university in Guangxi that has the qualification of "foreign aid training organizer" of the Ministry of Commerce, the school provides foreign aid training services for department-level officials and technical personnel in ASEAN and third world countries; as a vocational education training base in Guangxi, a designated training institution for e-commerce in Guangxi, a service outsourcing training institution in Guangxi, a foreign language training base for the Guangxi Foreign Language Training Center, a vocational skills training institution for retired soldiers at the autonomous region level, and a training unit for the Guangxi Vocational College Teachers Quality Improvement Plan, the school actively carries out job skills training for employees in the business system and foreign-related enterprises and rural labor transfer training; it provides talent, technology, resources, information, and cultural services for the opening and development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. It provides translation and volunteer services for the "China-ASEAN Expo" and the "China-ASEAN Investment Summit". The Guangxi Trade Relief and Industrial Security Early Warning Workstation was established to support the construction of RCEP, China (Guangxi) Free Trade Pilot Zone and the higher level of open development of Guangxi's business.
