Guangxi Polytechnic Vocational and Technical College is a higher vocational college organized in the form of mixed ownership, led by Guangxi Polytechnic Vocational and Technical School (a public secondary vocational school, a national demonstration school, a national key school, a five-star school in Guangxi, and the largest secondary vocational school in the country). Since its establishment in 2007, the college has adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, adhered to the party's education policy, and centered on the development positioning of "a high-level undergraduate vocational school with distinctive school characteristics, mainly engineering, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines". With the mission of "new engineering serving new industries", adhering to the school motto of "understanding reason and precision, returning to the roots and opening up new things" and the school philosophy of "morality and skills, establishing careers and people", the college has firmly established the characteristic confidence of "persisting in science and technology, and innovating science and technology" to promote the leapfrog development of the school. The school currently has two campuses, Huxing and Chengbei, covering an area of 1,358.15 acres, with 20,884 full-time students, 1,103 full-time teachers, a total value of teaching equipment of about 140 million yuan, and a total of 1.2547 million books. The school has 7 secondary colleges including the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, the School of Business, the School of Modern Services, the School of Electronic Engineering and Intelligentization, the School of Art and Design, and the School of Continuing Education, as well as 2 teaching departments including the Ideological and Political Teaching Department and the Public Teaching Department; 49 higher vocational majors are offered, of which 5 majors including construction engineering technology, engineering cost, logistics management, engineering surveying technology, and industrial robot technology have successively become key majors supported by private colleges and universities in Guangxi; there are 31 on-campus experimental training bases and 90 off-campus internship training bases, of which the construction technology training base is a demonstrative higher vocational education training base in the autonomous region. The school is the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in the autonomous region, the Guangxi vocational education training base, the Guangxi college student entrepreneurship demonstration base, the autonomous region housing and construction department key position training base, the Chongzuo city-level vocational skills designated training institution, the Chongzuo migrant workers technical skills training base, and the Chongzuo city-level high-skilled talent training base. The school won the title of "Outstanding Unit for Employment and Entrepreneurship of Graduates from Ordinary Colleges and Universities in the Region" for four consecutive years from 2018 to 2021. In the 2017-2021 National General Vocational College Student Competition List released by the Research Working Group on the Evaluation and Management System of Colleges and Universities of the China Higher Education Society in February 2022, the school ranked 41st in the country; in the 2017-2021 National Private Vocational College Student Competition List, the school ranked second in the country, and it was also the only Guangxi university to enter the top 20 of the list; in the 2022 China Vocational College Rankings released by the China Alumni Association Network, the school ranked 35th in the country and 2nd in Guangxi. In 2021, it won three teaching achievements at the autonomous region level in Guangxi vocational education, including two first prizes and one second prize for "Innovation and Practice of the Ideological and Political Practice Education Model of Vocational Colleges' Four-Party Collaboration and Four-Driven'". Guangxi Polytechnic College's strong school-running strength and ability to serve the local area have been widely recognized by the society.
