The university is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, which is picturesque all year round. It has three campuses: Xiangsi Lake, Siyuan Lake and Wuming, covering an area of about 3,600 acres. The campus environment is beautiful and quiet, the architectural style is simple and elegant, the humanistic atmosphere is deep and rich, and it has distinct Zhuang ethnic characteristics and Southeast Asian exotic customs. It is an ideal place for studying and studying. The university was founded in March 1952. Its predecessor was the Guangxi Branch of the Central Institute for Nationalities (now the Central University for Nationalities). It was renamed Guangxi Institute for Nationalities in February 1953, Guangxi Institute for Nationalities in June 1958, and Guangxi University for Nationalities in February 2006. The school is a university jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In November 1990, General Secretary Jiang Zemin praised the beautiful environment of the school when he visited the school and said it was a good place to study and learn. In November 2006, when President Hu Jintao visited Vietnam, he cordially met with representatives of teachers and students of our school who were giving lectures and studying in Vietnam. In October 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited the school for inspection and research. The school's foundation for running schools has been steadily consolidated, and the talent training system is complete. There are currently 26 teaching colleges (including the School of Continuing Education), covering 11 disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, art, and interdisciplinary disciplines. There are more than 2,600 faculty and staff, including more than 1,900 full-time teachers, more than 680 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, more than 700 teachers with doctoral degrees; more than 140 doctoral supervisors.
