The school is located in Nanning, the permanent venue of the China-ASEAN Expo, the central city of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was formerly the Guangxi Oriental Foreign Language Vocational College founded in June 2004. It was upgraded to a full-time general undergraduate college in April 2011. It is the first private general undergraduate college in Guangxi to be upgraded to a university, and it is the only independent foreign language general undergraduate college in Guangxi. In 2018, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In 2021, it was approved to establish a new master's degree awarding unit. The school has 16 colleges and departments, with 57 undergraduate and junior college majors, including 13 language majors, and more than 31,000 full-time students (data as of September 2022). It is the university with the largest number of students and the most languages in foreign language majors in Guangxi. There are currently two campuses in Nanning, Wuhe Campus and Airport Campus, with a total planned area of more than 2,500 acres. It continues to promote the co-construction of modern industrial colleges with industry enterprises, deepens the construction of colleges such as the Cross-border E-commerce Industry College and the International Hotel Management Industry College, and establishes a mechanism for the integration of industry, school, and scientific research platforms. It further absorbs industry experts and enterprise scholars to participate in the whole process of talent training, and relies on the co-construction platform to introduce the development needs of industry enterprises, introduce innovative entrepreneurial projects, co-build a dual-teacher and dual-capable team, and build production training scenes, forming a new pattern of "sharing school-enterprise faculty, co-constructing school-enterprise professional courses, and co-researching school-enterprise scientific research topics". We implement the strategy of strengthening the school with talents, regard teachers as the first resource for running schools, establish the Teacher Development Center in 2013, formulate a faculty construction plan, continuously improve the system mechanism, increase the training and training efforts, and regard the construction of the faculty as the key to improving the teaching level and ensuring the teaching quality.
