Guangzhou Technology and Business College is a private full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 1995. In 2004, Guangzhou Technology and Business Vocational and Technical College was established. In 2014, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Guangzhou Technology and Business College. In 2018, it was approved as a bachelor's degree awarding institution. In 2021, it was approved as a Guangdong Province Master's Degree Awarding Project Construction Unit and a Guangdong Province Doctoral Work Station New Station Unit. The school has a clear and definite idea. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, it adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, adheres to the fundamental principle of moral education and talent cultivation, educates people for the Party and the country, and insists on running education rooted in the land of South Guangdong, and runs education that satisfies the people. Adhering to the school motto of "upright morality, benefiting life, inspiring self-cultivation", carrying forward the teaching style of "being knowledgeable, good at teaching, self-cultivation and reaching others" and the style of study of "diligent learning, quick thinking, truth-seeking and innovation", aiming to create a distinctive high-level applied university of finance and economics, comprehensively implementing the concept of student-centered, output-oriented and continuous improvement, and committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, with solid professional knowledge, outstanding practical ability, patriotism, innovative spirit, humanistic qualities and international vision to adapt to the needs of local and regional economic and social development. Adhering to the political core role of the Party Committee, it has successively been approved to build two "three-type" party branches of provincial colleges and universities, two model party branches of provincial colleges and universities for party building work, and two provincial "double leaders" teacher party branch secretary studios, and two teachers have been rated as "excellent party workers" and "excellent party members" in the provincial education system. In the past three years, students have won 932 provincial and above discipline competitions, including the gold medal of the Guangdong Division of the China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the gold medal of the Provincial "Challenge Cup" College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, and the first prize of the Provincial "Challenge Cup" College Student Academic and Scientific Works Competition; won 140 national and provincial sports awards, including the gold medal of the men's 1500 meters in the Provincial Universiade, and the first place in the provincial college student taekwondo championship. The teaching staff continues to be optimized. There are 1,486.5 full-time teachers, including 1,462 full-time teachers, with a student-teacher ratio of 19.47:1; 269 of them have senior professional titles, accounting for 18.40%; 1,439 have master's and doctoral degrees, accounting for 98.43%; 499 "dual-qualified and dual-capable" teachers, accounting for 34.13%. There is one academician of the European Academy of Natural Sciences, one expert enjoying the "Special Government Allowance" of the State Council, two national outstanding teachers, one national college ideological and political theory course teaching expert, two provincial teaching masters, one Guangdong college ideological and political theory course teacher, nine South Guangdong outstanding teachers, one South Guangdong outstanding educator, six national private college outstanding counselors, 13 Guangdong private education outstanding teachers, and two Guangdong private education outstanding workers. In the past three years, teachers have won 57 provincial and above teaching competition awards, including one special prize in the National College Hybrid Teaching Design Innovation Competition, one second prize in the National College Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Demonstration, six provincial teacher teaching innovation competitions, 15 provincial young teacher teaching competitions, and five provincial undergraduate college course ideological and political teaching competitions. The scientific research level has been steadily improved. There are currently 8 provincial subject platforms and 25 school-level research institutes. In the past three years, the university has won 194 projects above the municipal and departmental level, including the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research, and the Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning, published 3,235 academic papers, and compiled 92 textbooks (books); it has been approved as a supporting unit of the National Natural Science Foundation, 2 Guangdong Provincial Humanities and Social Sciences Popularization Bases, and 1 Guangdong Provincial Science Popularization Education Base; it has been approved as a pilot school for intellectual property rights in Guangzhou, and currently has 551 intellectual property rights and 73 PCTs. The conditions for running schools have gradually improved. There are two campuses in Guangzhou Huadu and Foshan Sanshui. The campus covers an area of 926,700 square meters, a building area of 943,500 square meters, and an area of 279,500 square meters for teaching and administrative use, with an average of 9.88 square meters per student; there are 129 on-campus experimental training rooms and 203 off-campus practical teaching bases; the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 167 million yuan, with an average of 5,785.71 yuan per student; the collection of paper books is 3.4239 million volumes, with an average of 118.27 volumes per student. The integration of industry and education has been deepened. Eight industrial colleges have been established, among which the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Smart Cold Chain Industrial College has been approved as a demonstrative industrial college in Guangdong Province; it has taken the lead or participated in the formulation of five industry standards, including the "Specifications for the Construction of Cross-border E-commerce Industry-Education Integration", to provide replicable and popularizable "Guangzhou Standards" and "Guangzhou Wisdom"; two advisory reports have been adopted and applied by large state-owned enterprises; it has three provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, one provincial school-enterprise joint laboratory, and three provincial practical teaching bases; it has been approved as the "Guangdong Provincial Innovation Space". International cooperation is accelerating. In cooperation with Northeastern State University in the United States, the Northeastern State Joint Technology College of Guangzhou Business College was established. It is the only Sino-foreign cooperative institution among private universities in Guangdong Province, with 302 students; it has established in-depth cooperative relations with 30 world-renowned universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Italy, etc. In the past three years, 209 students have gone abroad to study, and 465 students have gone abroad for exchanges, internships, further studies and further studies. The road is arduous and the journey is tough. After 29 years of development, the school's educational level has been steadily improved, its service capabilities have been gradually enhanced, and its social reputation has been continuously improved. It has cultivated and sent more than 100,000 outstanding graduates to the country and society.
