Guilin Institute of Aerospace Technology was founded in 1979 and was once affiliated to the Seventh Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Ministry of Aerospace Industry, the Ministry of Aerospace Industry, and the China Aerospace Corporation. In April 1999, the school was transferred to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and implemented a management system of "central and local co-construction, with local management as the main body".
