Guizhou Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College was established in March 2016 with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It is a full-time public general higher vocational college registered with the Ministry of Education, a project construction unit of Guizhou Province's "Double High Plan", and the only "Huawei Big Data College" authorized by Huawei's Board of Directors. The school's history can be traced back to Guizhou Electronic Industry School in 1979. It currently covers an area of 1,009 acres, with a construction area of about 410,000 square meters, an investment scale of more than 2 billion yuan, and an average equipment value of 12,000 yuan per student. The college is located in the Electronic Information Industrial Park of Gui'an New District, a national-level new district, in the center of the national big data industry cluster area, adjacent to the "Tencent Data Center", "Huawei Global Data Center", "Apple China (Gui'an) Data Center", the three major communication operators' data centers and other big data frontiers, creating conditions for the deep integration of the college and the industrial park, and the deep connection between the teaching chain and the industrial chain and the talent chain. The school currently has 589 faculty and staff, including 492 full-time teachers. There are 63 professors and associate professors, and 329 "dual-qualified" teachers. There are more than 12,000 students on campus, and the employment rate of graduates remains above 96%. The school has opened 25 majors in five major professional groups, including intelligent Internet of Things, electrical automation, intelligent connected vehicles, and e-commerce, led by big data. Among them, the professional groups of big data technology and electrical automation technology have been approved for the construction of high-level professional groups in Guizhou Province. The college comprehensively deepens its cooperation with Huawei and expands, optimizes, strengthens and specializes Huawei Big Data College. With the goal of serving the high-quality development of Guiyang and Gui'an's big data industry, it has jointly built two major training bases, the "Huawei ICT Industry-Education Integration Innovation Training Base" and the "Big Data Industry-Education Integration Training Base" supported by the National Development and Reform Commission with 80 million yuan. In 2021, it will jointly build a "Digital Craftsman" talent training model with Huawei, and train more than 2,600 big data technical and skilled talents in 2 years, with an employment rate of more than 97%. It has become the largest data center operation and maintenance talent training base in the country, a data center operation and maintenance talent training base built by the province and city, and a pilot unit for the construction of digital campuses in national vocational colleges. In 2021, it won the Huawei Excellent ICT Academy Award, and in 2022, it won the Excellent Huawei ICT Academy Award. In recent years, the school has adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating talents, adhered to the original mission of "educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country", based in Guiyang and Gui'an, rooted in electronic information, assisted collaborative manufacturing, and created "digital craftsmen". With the joint efforts of teachers and students of the whole school, the school was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission to build the "Guizhou Province Big Data Industry-Education Integration Training Base", "Guizhou Province Big Data Talent Training Base", and Guizhou Province Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation University Demonstration Base, and was rated as an advanced unit for employment work in Guizhou Province in 2022. In the evaluation of higher vocational colleges in the province in 2022, our school won the first-class fifth place.
