Guizhou Qiannan University of Economics, formerly known as the School of Business of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, was established in 2001 with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education and the approval of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It was confirmed by the Ministry of Education in 2004 as an undergraduate school with independent legal personality and a license to run a school that implements undergraduate education. On April 16, 2014, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics standardized the operation of independent colleges in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, and established a new campus in Huishui County, Qiannan Prefecture, which was officially put into use in September 2014. On May 31, 2021, the Ministry of Education issued the "Letter of the Ministry of Education on the Approval of the Transfer of the School of Business of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics to Guizhou Qiannan University of Economics" (Jiaofa Letter [2021] No. 75), officially approving the transfer of the School of Business of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics to Guizhou Qiannan University of Economics. The school covers a total area of nearly 1,400 acres, with a total construction area of more than 600,000 square meters, more than 900,000 paper books, more than 1.5 million electronic books, and a total value of more than 60 million yuan in instruments and equipment. The school consists of six colleges, including finance, accounting, management, information, literature, and Marxism. It offers 31 undergraduate majors, including accounting, finance, business administration, computer science and technology, Chinese language and literature, and law. It covers five disciplines, including economics, management, engineering, literature, and law. Economics and management are the main disciplines, forming a multi-disciplinary coordinated development discipline and professional system. There are more than 20,000 full-time students. The school has a team of high-quality full-time and part-time teachers with sufficient quantity, reasonable structure, and meeting the needs of teaching. As of now, there are more than 800 full-time teachers. The school runs schools in accordance with the law, strictly follows the laws of education, faces social needs, optimizes the structural layout, improves the teaching quality, and strives to cultivate application-oriented talents with a sense of social responsibility, a solid professional foundation, and strong hands-on ability for local economic construction and social development, and meet the needs of social and economic development, mainly in economic management, that is, "two one strong" talents.
