Shizhen College of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the College) is an independent college established in 2001 with the approval of the Ministry of Education of China and the People's Government of Guizhou Province. In the special inspection of the Ministry of Education of China in 2005, the College was the only school in Guizhou Province that received a good evaluation. The College is located in Xiuwen, Guiyang, where Wang Yangming, a great Confucian scholar in the Ming Dynasty, founded the system of mind-reasoning, unity of knowledge and action, and conscience-seeking, and opened the "holy land of mind-learning" in Guizhou education. Over the past 20 years, it has trained more than 18,000 specialized talents of various types for the society. The College "is based in Guizhou, faces the whole country, serves the local area, and serves the industry", adheres to serving national strategies and local needs, and focuses on the development of big health, big data, and modern management disciplines. It has established characteristic universities, set up 6 secondary teaching units, 24 undergraduate majors, covering eight major disciplines such as economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, and management, and recruits students from more than 10 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country. There are nearly 15,000 full-time undergraduate students. The college has a strong faculty, with a team of more than 1,000 full-time and part-time teachers with rich teaching experience, moderate scale, reasonable structure, noble teacher ethics and excellent quality. Among the full-time teachers, 37% are associate professors and above, and 61% are postgraduate teachers. The college campus planning covers an area of 1,700 acres (including 200 acres of affiliated hospitals). Adhering to the planning and design concept of "elegant university, heart learning, simple and bright rhyme, and contemporary scenery", it strives to intersect and complement humanities and nature, and pay equal attention to regional and contemporary spirit. There are more than 50 teaching laboratories and experimental teaching centers of various types, more than 200 internship bases inside and outside the school, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is nearly 100 million yuan. The library has a collection of 1.28 million books, including more than 510,000 electronic books, and various sports venues and facilities are complete. The college adheres to the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people, implements the "three-dimensional education", focuses on students' moral education, innovation and entrepreneurship ability training, and autonomous learning ability improvement, and constantly innovates the talent training model to improve the quality of talent training. In the past five years, the college has won many awards in national and provincial subject competitions and challenge cup competitions; the admission rate of graduates to postgraduate entrance examinations has increased year by year; the passing rate of nurse professional qualification, national legal professional qualification, and health manager professional qualification examinations has increased year by year; the initial employment rate of graduates has remained above 85%, and has been generally well received by employers. The college insists on open education, establishes cooperative relations with more than 1,000 hospitals, enterprises, and institutions in China, and deeply carries out the integration of production and education to cultivate high-level and high-quality application-oriented talents. It has established friendly and cooperative relations with colleges and institutions in Ireland, South Korea, Russia, Australia and other countries, and carried out international exchange and cooperation projects such as student exchanges, teacher visits, and scientific research cooperation.
