Guizhou Vocational Institute of Technology is a full-time general college approved by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The college fully implements the party's education policy, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, adheres to moral education, pays attention to connotation development, survives by quality, develops by characteristics, takes service as its purpose, and takes employment as its orientation. Based in Qiannan, facing Guizhou, radiating to the southwest, it cultivates high-quality, high-tech, and high-skilled application-oriented talents. The college is located on the banks of the Sajin River in Fuquan City, a historical and cultural city in Guizhou. It has a beautiful environment, advanced facilities, standardized management, and distinctive characteristics. It is a "happy campus" where parents are happy to send, students are happy to learn, teachers are happy to teach, and enterprises are happy to use. The college plans to build a land area of more than 600 acres, with a construction area of 250,000 square meters, a total investment of 800 million yuan, and has two campuses in the south and north. The college features the construction of a flower campus, and strives to create a "happy campus, smart campus, and cultural campus", providing a broad development space for the growth and development of a large number of students. The college currently has more than 400 full-time teachers, of which more than 15% are teachers with associate senior titles or above, more than 13% are "dual-qualified" teachers, and more than 19% have a master's degree or above. The college has four departments: the Teaching Affairs Department, the Student Affairs Department, the General Affairs Department, and the Party and Mass Work Department. It has opened 21 majors including automotive styling and modification technology, automotive inspection and maintenance technology, new energy vehicle technology, urban rail transit operation management, big data and financial management, e-commerce, big data accounting, nursing, pharmacy, applied chemical technology, high-speed railway passenger service, pharmaceutical production technology, and tourism management. The college has successively won the titles of "4A-level social organization" of the Department of Civil Affairs of Guizhou Province, "May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee" of Guizhou Province, provincial-level safe and civilized campus, "civilized unit" of Qiannan Prefecture, the third batch of national 1+X certificate pilot units, advanced units of Guizhou Province's summer "three going to the countryside" social practice activities, advanced collectives of Qiannan Prefecture's "safe campus" creation, "Excellent Organization Award" of Guizhou Province's Three Creations Competition, and the first batch of "Academic Pioneers" of Guizhou Province's colleges and universities. In terms of professional construction, the college has become the third batch of national 1+X certificate pilot units, and 5 majors have become pilot majors for three professional skill level certificates of "commercial vehicle sales service", "automotive paint coloring and spraying", and "digital management accounting" of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. This provides a typical demonstration for our college to comprehensively promote the integration of "job courses, competitions and certificates"; modern chemical engineering majors have successively become the 27th and 32nd industrial chain construction projects in Guizhou Province, which provides a platform for our college to serve Guizhou Province to form a batch of high-end, intelligent, and ecological "Guizhou manufacturing" products and create an upgraded version of "Guizhou manufacturing". In terms of teaching, research and scientific research, 100% of teachers participate in teaching and research activities, and more than 60% of teachers participate in scientific research. Ten school-level teaching reform projects have been established; six provincial and above projects have been concluded; more than 10 patents have been applied for, and 5 patents have been authorized; more than 100 papers have been published, including 4 in core journals, and the quantity and quality have increased year by year, which has laid a good foundation for our college to adhere to the working principle of "promoting education through research, applying research, and educating people through research" for a long time. In terms of skill competitions, the college strongly supports teachers and students to participate in national and provincial skill competitions.
