Hainan Vocational College of Industry and Commerce is a provincial private full-time higher vocational college. It is located in Pandan Village, Haikou, one of the four famous cultural villages in Hainan, which was the original site of Yangyou Academy founded by Tang Zhou, a sage in the Ming Dynasty. The school was formerly Hainan Wanhe Information Vocational and Technical College founded in 2004. In April 2010, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of Hainan Wanhe Information Vocational and Technical College to "Hainan Vocational College of Industry and Commerce". In 2012, Mr. Tang Jie acquired Hainan Vocational College of Industry and Commerce in full and served as the chairman of the school. The school inherits the school motto of "Yangyou", adheres to the school-running philosophy of "teachers and students are the basis, talents strengthen the school, quality establishes the school, characteristics develop the school, and management is excellent", and strives to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents with excellent moral character, tolerant mind, good habits, and excellent academic performance. The school has a superior geographical location, facing the Nandu River to the east and the Meishe River to the west. It is located within a ten-minute walk from the political, economic and cultural center of the Hainan Free Trade Port. It is close to the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the People's Congress and the CPPCC, and is adjacent to the Hainan Provincial Library, Museum, Song and Dance Theater, Cultural and Art Center, Sports Center, etc. The school campus environment is beautiful. The campus covers an area of about 1,015 acres, with a standard outdoor sports field and swimming pool, and a comprehensive auditorium that can accommodate more than 2,000 people. The school's training building is equipped with various advanced training instruments and has the largest private cloud platform in the province, providing good conditions for the school to carry out high-level practical training and teaching. The library has a rich collection of paper and electronic books. The school is market-oriented and has formed a professional group that actively adapts to the needs of local economic and social development, has a reasonable structure, and has distinct characteristics of higher vocational colleges. There are currently 6 secondary colleges, including the School of Economics and Management, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Tourism and Art, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Health and Health, and the School of Transportation Engineering, and 2 teaching departments, including the Department of Ideological and Political Courses and the Department of Public Courses. The school has built 1 national key major, 1 national collaborative innovation center, 1 provincial high-level professional group, 2 provincial key majors, 3 provincial specialty majors, and 1 provincial college specialty training and teaching demonstration center. In 2023, the school will have 51 majors (including 11 five-year majors) including preschool education (national control major), big data and accounting, pharmaceutical production technology, cross-border e-commerce, architectural decoration engineering technology, engineering cost, hotel management and digital operation, modern mobile communication technology, and new energy vehicle technology. We have implemented the "teaching and practice integration" and "one institute, one product" projects, opened 7 institute-run entities, established 93 on-campus training bases (rooms, sites), and cooperated with Hainan Houpu Education Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Bluebird Vocational Education Technology Development Co., Ltd., Hainan Youhu Education Technology Development Co., Ltd., Guangdong Southern Communications Construction Co., Ltd., Evergrande Tourism Group, COFCO Hotel (Sanya) Co., Ltd., Hainan Nanshan Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Haikou Shangri-La Hotel, Sunac Property Services Group Co., Ltd., Sanya Yalong Bay Yuntian Tropical Forest Park Co., Ltd., Sanya Haichang Never Sleeps City, Hainan Suning Logistics Co., Ltd. and other well-known domestic companies to establish 90 off-campus training bases and 1 provincial-level college student entrepreneurship incubation base. We have set up employment liaison offices in industry-intensive areas such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta to build a graduate employment liaison platform. In recent years, the graduation destination implementation rate and retention rate of our school have been above 90%, ranking among the top universities in the province.
