Harbin Vocational College of Science and Technology is a full-time public general higher vocational college directly under the Harbin Municipal People's Government. The school has successfully passed the evaluation of talent training for higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education. It is a high-level higher vocational school in Heilongjiang Province, a model of provincial civilized campus, an advanced college for employment services for provincial college graduates, and an advanced collective of teacher ethics. It has been selected as the first batch of national language and character standardization demonstration schools and the second batch of national demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation units. The school was founded in 1919 and is located in Acheng District, Harbin, the "first capital of the Jinyuan Zhaoxing Land" and enjoys the reputation of "Millennium Cultural Context and Centennial University". The school has a beautiful environment and complete facilities. It has built a modern teaching park, training park and entrepreneurship park with complete functions, a red cultural heritage park, a Jinyuan cultural heritage park and a Shijing cultural heritage park. It is a garden-style school that integrates traditional culture and modern elements. The school is now a high-level vocational school construction unit in Heilongjiang Province, with 5 secondary colleges including Modern Service College, Engineering and Technology College, Finance and Economics College, Physical Education College, Normal and Art College, 1 Marxism College and 1 Training and Foreign Exchange College, and 36 enrollment majors. There are two provincial-level high-level professional groups, namely, smart transportation technology and operation management, and ice and snow sports and education, two key construction majors supported by the central government, namely, physical education and psychological counseling, and one national-level key major, urban rail transit operation management (a pilot major for the integrated training of applied talents between higher vocational and undergraduate programs). The school has established a dynamic adjustment mechanism for majors based on the needs of local industrial development, promoted supply-side structural reforms, and continuously enhanced the adaptability of vocational education. There are more than 8,000 full-time students. In recent years, the rate of graduates’ admission from junior college to undergraduate education has been nearly 30%, and the rate of graduates’ placement has reached more than 97%, ranking among the top similar colleges in the province. The school implements the talent-strengthening project, increases the introduction of high-level talents, enhances the international perspective of teachers, and continuously optimizes the structure of the teaching staff. There are nearly 400 full-time teachers, of which nearly 40% are teachers with senior professional titles, nearly 50% are teachers with master's degrees or above, and more than 80% are "double-qualified" professional teachers. The school has more than 90 comprehensive training centers and professional training rooms, and has built the Harbin Modern Service Vocational Education Group represented by ice and snow sports, urban rail transit services, aviation service management, and teacher education majors, and conducts 20,000 social training and corporate employee training each year. It hosts the "Cloud Computing" and "Mobile Robots" events of the Heilongjiang Vocational Skills Competition, and the "Machine Vision System Application", "Banking Business Comprehensive Skills", and "UAV Application Technology" events of the Provincial Vocational School Skills Competition. It has two national-level school-enterprise co-constructed productive training bases, the Urban Rail Transit Training Center and the Ice and Snow Industry Operation and Service Center, two provincial-level social science research bases for vocational education culture and preschool education, one provincial-level skill master studio, eight provincial-level boutique online open courses, and seven provincial-level ideological and political demonstration courses. As a national "Winter Ice and Summer Skating" training base and a national social sports instructor training base, it has successively hosted national sports events such as the National Highway (Speed) and Field (Speed) Roller Skating Championships, the National Rope Skipping League, and the National Social Sports Instructor Quality Competition Finals.
