Harbin Vocational and Technical College is a full-time comprehensive higher vocational college sponsored by the Harbin Municipal Government. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Harbin Commercial Vocational School established in 1956. Since 2002, the college has been formed by the merger of eight colleges, including the former Harbin Economic Management Cadre College, Harbin Construction Workers University, Harbin Finance and Trade Workers University, Harbin Workers Light Industry College, Harbin Science and Technology Workers University, Harbin Mechanical and Electrical Workers University, Harbin Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School, and Harbin Workers Medical College.
