Hebei Building Materials Vocational and Technical College is a higher vocational and technical college approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education. It was rated as an "Innovation Ability Training Experimental School" by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. It is the deputy director unit of the National Building Materials Teaching Committee of the Ministry of Education, the leading unit of the Hebei Building Materials Vocational Education Group, the vice president unit of the Hebei Building Materials Industry Association, the vice president unit of the Hebei Silicate Society, the Hebei Service Outsourcing Training Base, and the Ministry of Education Support Western Education Consultant College. The predecessor of the college was the Qinhuangdao Glass Industry Technical School of the State Building Materials Bureau established in 1978. In 1985, the Qinhuangdao Branch of the State Building Materials Bureau Management Cadre College was added. In 1998, it was transferred to Hebei and merged with the Hebei Building Materials Industry School to form the Hebei Building Materials Workers University. In 2001, it was rebuilt into the Hebei Building Materials Vocational and Technical College and was transferred to the management of the Hebei Provincial Department of Education at the end of the same year. The school-running level is mainly general higher vocational education, with vocational training as a new growth point and joint distance network education as an extension. The college is located in Qinhuangdao City, one of the first 14 coastal open cities in the country, and is located in the western university park. It is bordered by the Bohai Sea in the south, the development zone in the north, the Olympic Sports Center in the west, and the world's largest energy port, Qinhuangdao Port, in the east.
