Heilongjiang Forestry Vocational and Technical College is a public, full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Heilongjiang Provincial Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It recruits students from all over the country. The college is located in the beautiful Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, and currently has more than 7,000 students. The college was founded in 1958. In 2001, it was promoted to a higher vocational college by merging the former Mudanjiang Forestry School, Mudanjiang Forestry Normal School, Mudanjiang Forestry Cadre School, Dongjingcheng Forestry Electromechanical School, and Mudanjiang Forestry Technical School. The college covers an area of 50 million square meters, of which the campus covers an area of 364,000 square meters and the building area is 179,500 square meters. The campus environment is elegant and it is known as the "No. 1 Garden in Danjiang". The college has three campuses, with seven secondary colleges, namely, the College of Ecological Engineering, the College of Home Engineering, the College of Economics and Management, the College of Urban Construction, the College of Information Engineering, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the College of Humanities, and ten teaching departments, namely, the Department of Ideological and Political Theory, the Department of Physical Education, and the Department of Training. It is a higher vocational college with distinctive characteristics in forestry education, integrating forestry, engineering, management, mechanical and electrical, finance, and humanities education. The college has successively won the honorary titles of National Advanced Vocational Education Unit, Provincial Model Civilized Unit, and Provincial May 1st Labor Award. It is an "excellent" college in the talent training level assessment of the Ministry of Education and a demonstrative higher vocational college in Heilongjiang Province. It is a high-level higher vocational college construction unit in Heilongjiang Province and the second batch of pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship system. It is also a national high-skilled talent training base and the 45th World Skills Competition China (woodworking project) training base. The college currently offers 43 majors, of which furniture design and manufacturing, photogrammetry and remote sensing technology, and electrical automation technology are the second batch of national and the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot majors in the province; furniture design and manufacturing, forestry technology, surveying and mapping, finance, and automobiles are five major groups that are key professional groups for high-level colleges and universities. Furniture design and manufacturing is a high-level backbone construction major in Heilongjiang Province. The college has participated in the construction of a national professional teaching resource library and the formulation of national authentic medicinal materials group standards. It has 5 large-scale online open courses, 1 national boutique resource sharing course, and won 2 second prizes for vocational education and teaching achievements in Heilongjiang Province. The college is committed to building a high-level "dual-teacher" structure professional teaching team. There are currently 326 full-time teachers, including 53 professors; 145 doctoral, master's and degree-seeking teachers; 222 "dual-teacher" quality teachers; 5 provincial teaching masters. The teaching team of furniture design and manufacturing and garden flower technology is an excellent provincial teaching team. The college adheres to the collaborative education between schools and enterprises, and deeply promotes the integration of production and education. It is the chairman unit of the Heilongjiang Forestry Vocational Education Group, the participating unit of the National Forest Ecological Logo Product Group Standard, and the vice chairman unit of the National Light Industry Home Furnishing Vocational Education Group. It has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with 168 large and medium-sized domestic enterprises, of which more than 100 enterprises have become the college's "work-learning combination" internship base. The college has built an "open and shared" practical teaching base on campus. It currently has 4 national training bases, 5 provincial training bases, 108 modern training rooms and 34 integrated classrooms with advanced facilities. It also has training venues such as the Food Inspection and Testing Center, the Forest Industry UAV Technology Center, and the Digital Panel Furniture Production Line Workshop. The college has 18 people serving as members of the National Steering Committee for various industries, 5 people have been hired as national forestry science and technology commissioners, and 32 people have been hired as forestry technology experts in the expert pool of China Longjiang Forest Industry Group Co., Ltd. 55 people have been hired as members of the Expert Review Committee by various industries. One person was appointed as the deputy director of the National Light Industry Steering Committee Professional Committee and the secretary-general of the National Forestry Steering Committee Forestry Engineering Special Steering Committee. He served as the leader of the Chinese expert group for the woodworking project in the 44th and 45th World Skills Competitions. The college focuses on improving students' comprehensive quality and professional skills, implements the "moral education innovation project", opens the | Xiude Lecture Hall, opens the "Xiude Innovation Experimental Class", and builds a "big ideological and political" work pattern. At the same time, it explores the "one specialty and multiple abilities" talent training model and actively cultivates students' professional ability and innovation ability. Relying on "Heilongjiang Linzhiyuan High-tech Entrepreneurship Service Co., Ltd.", the college builds a platform for students' innovation and entrepreneurship. Students have won good news in various skill competitions at all levels. In 2018 alone, students participated in 62 provincial and above competitions, and won 1 national second prize and 3 third prizes in these competitions, 13 provincial first prizes, 23 second prizes, and 28 third prizes. Two students from the "Luban Craftsman Class" were selected for the national training team for the 45th World Skills Competition and won the title of "National Technical Expert". Student Xu Yan won the first prize in the 44th World Skills Competition. In 2019, CCTV News Channel reported on the college continuously with the title "Little Lu Ban on the World Stage". The strong school-running strength, high quality of education and teaching, and broad employment prospects for graduates have attracted a large number of students to study.
