Henan University of Finance and Economics is located in Zhengzhou, a famous historical and cultural city. It is a provincial public undergraduate college in Henan Province approved by the Ministry of Education in 2016. The school was established by the merger of Henan Finance and Taxation College (founded in 1953) and Henan Education College (founded in 1955). The former Henan Finance and Taxation College is the earliest school in Henan that focuses on training professionals in finance, taxation, finance, accounting, etc. It is an important base for training financial application and economic management talents. The former Henan Education College is a provincial adult undergraduate college with profound basic education resources and rich undergraduate education experience. The school currently has two main campuses, Longzihu and Xianghu, with a total area of about 1.206 million square meters and a school building area of 699,900 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 171 million yuan, and the library has more than 2.68 million paper books. There are 207 on-campus laboratories and training sites, 1 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship practice base, and all kinds of infrastructure are complete. There are more than 19,000 full-time students and 866 full-time teachers, of which 364 have senior professional titles, accounting for 42.03%; 763 have doctoral and master's degrees, accounting for 88.11%. There are 6 members of the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Education Committee, 15 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council, candidates for the Central Plains Thousand Talents Plan, Central Plains teaching masters, provincial excellent experts, provincial government special allowance experts, provincial teaching masters, and provincial academic and technical leaders, and 61 academic and technical leaders of the Provincial Department of Education. The school actively adapts to the needs of industry and local economic and social development, actively adjusts and optimizes the discipline and professional structure, focuses on the development of finance, accounting, finance and other economic and management majors and emerging majors such as artificial intelligence and big data, and creates a "one body and two wings" school-running feature with economics and management as the main body and "finance + technology" and "finance + education" as the two wings. There are 23 teaching units and 39 undergraduate majors. The accounting discipline was approved as a key discipline in Henan Province, and 8 majors such as finance and investment were selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The school focuses on the cultivation of applied talents, actively promotes the reform of talent training models, strengthens education and teaching management, strengthens innovation and entrepreneurship education, and improves the quality of talent training in all aspects. It has been approved for 3 national first-class undergraduate courses, 21 first-class undergraduate courses in Henan Province, 16 provincial-level high-quality online open courses and model courses for ideological and political courses, and 7 provincial "14th Five-Year Plan" textbooks. It has won 11 provincial teaching achievement awards, including 2 special prizes.
