Hengshui Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time general higher vocational college. It is located in Hengshui City, which is known as the hometown of great Confucian scholars and the northern lake city. It has a long history, profound cultural heritage, beautiful environment and convenient transportation. The predecessor of the college was the Zhili Sixth Normal School founded in 1923. On April 30, 2001, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, Hengshui Vocational and Technical College was established on the basis of Hebei Jixian Normal School. The college fully implements the party's education policy, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality, and strives to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents with both moral and technical skills. In recent years, it has won many honors such as the Advanced Grassroots Party Organization of Hebei Province, the National Demonstration Unit of Energy-Saving Public Institutions, the National Public Institution Energy Efficiency Leader, and the National March 8 Red Flag Collective. It is a pilot unit for joint-stock mixed-ownership schools in Hebei Province, a pilot unit for diagnosis and improvement of the internal quality assurance system in Hebei Province, and a provincial high-level higher vocational school construction unit. The college currently has two campuses, covering an area of 387 acres, of which the main campus is 162 acres and the Wuyi campus is 225 acres. It recruits students from 10 provinces across the country, with more than 8,500 students. It has 6 departments and 2 departments, including the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Information Engineering, the Department of Digital Commerce, the Department of Art and Design, the Department of Modern Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, the Department of Preschool Education and Social Services, the Department of Social Sciences and the Department of Sports Work. It offers 32 majors, including railway power supply technology, big data technology, modern agriculture, and preschool education. Among them, the railway power supply technology professional group is a provincial high-level professional group, and the arts and crafts design major is a provincial national cultural inheritance and innovation demonstration point major. There are 12 1+X certificate system pilots, 7 provincial-level boutique online open courses, 1 Hebei Province College Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Master Gold Course, 1 national planning textbook, and has won 2 first prizes and 3 third prizes in provincial teaching achievement awards. The college adheres to the integration of production and education and promotes collaborative education between schools and enterprises. It took the lead in establishing the Hebei National Skills Inheritance Vocational Education Group and the Hengshui Industry-Education Integration Alliance, and built 6 modern industrial colleges with well-known companies such as Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Jilin Aviation Repair Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., ASE Group (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Hebei Ruifeng Technology Co., Ltd., and Hebei Weibo Education Technology Co., Ltd., and built 1 provincial collaborative innovation center. The school-enterprise cooperation has built 5 on-campus training bases with advanced equipment, 69 off-campus practice bases, and 92 courses jointly developed by schools and enterprises. The college has 383 faculty and staff, including 165 master's degrees or above and 69 teachers with senior professional titles. There are 3 provincial teacher teaching innovation teams, 10 talents in the provincial "Three Three Three Talent Project", 3 provincial teacher ethics models, 1 provincial outstanding teacher, 2 provincial master studios, and 2 famous teacher studios. In the past three years, college teachers have won 3 national awards and 72 provincial awards in various competitions at all levels. The college attaches great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship education, and has built a national-level mass innovation space and a Hebei Province dual innovation demonstration base. In recent years, students have won more than 240 awards in various vocational skills competitions at all levels. Graduates are welcomed by employers for their excellent business quality and professional ability, with the employment rate remaining above 95% and the matching rate remaining above 80%.
