Hotan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time higher vocational college established in March 2018 with the approval of the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and registered with the Ministry of Education in May. It is organized by the Administrative Office of Hotan Prefecture and its business is guided and managed by the Education Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Since its establishment, the college has adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, adhered to the overall goal of serving social stability and long-term peace, followed the school motto of "Yu Ru Yu Cheng, Moral and Skilled", and centered on the school-running philosophy of "serving the precise development of the industry, integrating industry and education with distinctive development, and highlighting the application of high-quality education". Adhering to the school-running positioning of "based in Hotan, serving Xinjiang, and facing the whole country", it has clarified the core mission of promoting the economic and social development of Hotan and cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents. The college welcomed the first batch of students in September 2018 and became the first chairman unit of the Vocational Education Alliance of Hotan Prefecture in April 2019. I. Basic information of teachers and students 1. Basic information of teachers. There are 234 teachers, including 17 teachers from Tianjin to Xinjiang. In terms of faculty structure, there are 23 associate professors and above. 2. Basic information of students. There are 4,843 registered students. There are 664 graduates in 2022, with an employment rate of 95.33%. 2. Situation of the college's training base As of the end of 2022, the college has put into use 1 public teaching building, 4 professional training buildings, and 48 theoretical classrooms; there are 49 on-campus training rooms and 2,438 on-campus training room equipment. All classrooms in the college are uniformly equipped with multimedia integrated equipment; there is 1 Mandarin test point (including 2 test rooms and 40 test positions). Since the establishment of the college, it has purchased and introduced 14 information construction systems such as the teaching affairs system, student management system, welcome system, identity authentication system, financial system, one-card system, recording and broadcasting system, TV live broadcast room system, official website system, and Internet behavior management system. 3. College professional settings The college currently has 6 teaching departments and 18 majors. They are: Department of Tourism Management: Tourism Management, Cooking Technology and Nutrition, Hotel Management and Digital Operation; Department of Arts and Crafts: Art Design, Fashion Design and Technology; Department of Economic Management: E-commerce, Big Data and Accounting, Modern Logistics Management; Department of Agricultural Science and Technology: Horticultural Technology, Agricultural Product Processing and Quality Inspection, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary; Department of Social Management: Civil Affairs Service and Management, Modern Housekeeping Service and Management. Department of Engineering Technology: Automobile Manufacturing and Testing Technology, Computer Network Technology. Three new majors will begin enrollment in September 2023: Community Management and Service, New Energy Vehicle Technology, Mechatronics Technology (Mining Mechatronics). IV. Construction of the College's Infrastructure 1. Complete the first phase of the college with high quality. The college covers a total area of about 940 acres, with a construction area of 89,400 square meters and a total investment of about 496 million yuan. It has built 21 items including teaching buildings, public training centers, canteens, teacher and student dormitories, activity centers, athletic fields, and public rental housing. It has been put into use and can accommodate 5,640 students. 2. Accelerate the construction of the second phase of the college. The second phase of the project under construction has a construction area of 90,000 square meters and a total investment of 400 million yuan. The main construction content includes a public training center, a public teaching building, a library, an agricultural science and technology building, a social management building, an animal science and technology building, 4 dormitory buildings, a canteen, a civil air defense basement and ancillary supporting facilities, which can accommodate 2,800 people. The construction will be completed in May this year and put into use in the fall. After the college is fully completed, it can accommodate 8,500 students.
