Huaihua Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher vocational college. It was formed by the merger of Hunan Anjiang Agricultural School and Huaihua Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School in 2003. The college started in 1939, with a history of more than 80 years. It implements the management system of "co-construction by the Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Huaihua Municipal People's Government, with the city as the main management". Yuan Longping, a famous scientist, winner of the "Medal of the Republic", and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, worked and lived in the school for 37 years and served as the honorary dean for a long time. The college covers an area of 1,134 acres, with two campuses in Huaihua and Anjiang, a campus building area of 241,300 square meters, fixed assets of 480 million yuan, a collection of 782,000 books, and teaching equipment with a total value of more than 80 million yuan. There are 473 on-the-job faculty and staff, including 139 associate professors and above, and 222 teachers with master's degrees and above.
