Huaiyin Normal University is located in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city with beautiful scenery and rich humanities, and the hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai. It is a provincial higher education institution with teacher education as its main feature and the right to confer master's degrees. In the more than 60 years of higher education, Huaiyin Normal University has kept pace with the times and shared the fate of the nation, and has made important contributions to local basic education and regional economic and social development. It is known as the "cradle of teachers in northern Jiangsu". The school currently has two campuses on Changjiang Road and Jiaotong Road, covering an area of nearly 2,000 acres and a school building area of 630,000 square meters. There are 20 secondary colleges, and the professional settings cover 9 disciplines including science, engineering, economics, law, education, literature, history, management, and art. There are more than 20,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 100 postgraduates. The school passed the undergraduate teaching level qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education in 2002, and obtained the excellent level of undergraduate teaching level assessment of the Ministry of Education in 2007. In 2014, as one of the three pilot assessment universities in the province, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching work review and evaluation. More than 20 two-way exchange programs for teachers and students have been established with many universities, including Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences in Finland, National University of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Yamanashi Eiwa University in Japan, Soochow University in Taiwan, I-Shou University, and Xuanzang University. It has been selected into the Jiangsu-Canada University Cooperation Alliance and the Jiangsu-Korea University Cooperation Alliance. The school gives full play to its advantages in talent training, scientific research, and intellectual support, and actively carries out all-round cooperation with local governments, enterprises, and institutions to provide strong intellectual support for local economic construction. The school has established provincial key research bases such as the Teacher Education Collaborative Innovation Research Center and the Cultural Entrepreneurship Industry Research Center. The Huai'an Branch of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt Construction Research Institute, the Huaihe Ecological Economic Belt Research Institute, the Huai'an Rural Revitalization College, and the Huai'an E-commerce College have produced good social impacts and economic benefits, and many decision-making advisory reports have been adopted by the central and local governments. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 2,100 horizontal and "four skills" service projects.
