Hubei Sports Vocational College was founded in 1978. It was approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government in 2010 and registered by the Ministry of Education in 2011 to establish a higher vocational college. The college is located in the East Lake New Technology Development Zone of Wuhan City, in the prime location of "Wuhan·China Optics Valley", covering an area of 532 acres, adjacent to the Third Ring Road and Metro Line 11, with convenient transportation, backed by Heye Mountain, and beautiful environment. It is an ideal place for students to study. The college is affiliated to the Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau and is the only higher vocational education institution in the Hubei sports system. The college adheres to the market demand-oriented, sports and education integration as its feature, and the goal of cultivating high-quality sports professional and skilled talents, taking the road of open schooling, characteristic schooling, and high-quality schooling. In recent years, with the spring breeze of building a healthy China and a strong sports province, it has gradually developed into a full-time higher vocational college integrating sports higher vocational teaching, sports training, social training, and sports scientific research. It is currently a member unit of the National Vocational Education Committee, a member unit of the National Sports School Federation, a national key high-level sports reserve talent base, a standing member unit of the National Sports Health Industry-Education Integration Community, and a pilot unit of the National Youth Football Elite Talent Training Program. It has been selected as a unit in the "61530" action plan for comprehensively deepening the construction of sports schools in Hubei Province. It has trained and sent many Olympic champions and world champions such as Gao Ling, Liao Hui, Tian Tao, Wang Xiaoli, and Tian Yuan, and has made important contributions to the development of the national and Hubei sports industry. The college currently has 136 full-time teachers, including 16 professional and technical positions above deputy senior. Well-known experts in related fields are hired to teach all year round, and cooperative education is carried out with universities such as Central China Normal University, Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, and Hubei Second Normal University, which can provide broad space for students to continue their studies. The college connects with the sports industry and cultivates high-quality talents in sports education, sports industry, and sports management around the sports industry. There are 12 majors, including physical education, sports training, social sports, sports operation and management, sports health and rehabilitation, fitness guidance and management, leisure sports, sports art performance, e-sports and management, security technology, online live broadcast and operation, ice and snow sports and management. Among them, the sports education major is a state-controlled major in education, and the social sports and sports operation and management majors are key majors supported by the central government. Accurately matching the needs of the market and enterprises, new professional directions such as early childhood physical education, event operation, and fitness coaching are opened. The college also has a secondary vocational department-Hubei Sports School, which has a school system of three to six years. It mainly aims to cultivate high-level sports reserve talents. It is the highest level of children's sports training in Hubei Province. The college insists on both reading and training, and conducts cultural studies every morning and sports training in the afternoon. There are 16 sports events including track and field, football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, boxing, wrestling, judo, weightlifting, martial arts, Sanshou, taekwondo, tennis, shooting, fencing, volleyball, etc., with 4 key events of football, shooting, weightlifting and boxing. There are three individual schools for women's football, weightlifting and shooting. The college always adheres to the idea of high-quality and high-standard construction, actively promotes the upgrading of software and hardware, and strives to become a first-class and well-known sports skills practical vocational college in the province.
