It is backed by Huilong Mountain and faces Xiufeng Lake. It has beautiful scenery and profound cultural heritage. Hunan Xiang Embroidery Industry Science and Technology Education Park Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College Changsha Base is set up in Xingsha, Changsha City. The predecessor of Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College was Yiyang July 21 Arts and Crafts University founded in 1975 and Hunan Garment Technical School founded in 1981. Yiyang July 21 Arts and Crafts University was renamed "Hunan Yiyang Arts and Crafts University" and "Hunan Arts and Crafts Workers University"; Hunan Garment Technical School was renamed "Hunan Garment Industry School" and "Hunan Arts and Crafts Design School". In 1999, the school began to hold three-year higher vocational education. In 2005, with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College was officially established. The school has eight colleges and one department, and has established five major professional groups: embroidery design and technology, clothing and apparel design, environmental art design, digital media art design, and visual communication design and production, including 36 majors and professional directions, 1 national high-level professional group (A-level), 3 provincial first-class characteristic professional groups, and 5 national key majors. The school adheres to the school motto of "use and beauty", implements the school-running ideas of "innovative development, characteristic development, connotation development, and people-oriented development", adheres to the school-running philosophy of "moral education as the soul, ability-based, fine art as the path, use and beauty", actively adapts to the development needs of the industry, cultivates a large number of outstanding talents, promotes the inheritance and innovation of Hunan-style arts and crafts, and makes important contributions to the development of the country, especially Hunan's cultural creativity and arts and crafts industry, and the promotion of excellent Hunan culture. Since 2016, students of the school have won 281 provincial second prizes or above in major events such as vocational college student skills competitions and Internet + Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions, including 4 international awards, 166 national awards, and 111 provincial awards. Students in school participated in the 2019 Global Skills Challenge Fashion Technology Project and won the gold medal. The student entrepreneurial team was shortlisted for the National Internet + Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and won the bronze medal. In 2018, 7 graduates of the non-legacy major won the titles of "Excellent Craftsman of Hunan Embroidery" and "Excellent Craftsman of Hunan Porcelain" in Hunan Province, and 5 won the May 1st Labor Medal of Hunan Province. In the 45 years since its establishment, the school has trained more than 40,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents. Among the school's graduates, there are 4 national-level arts and crafts masters, 12 Hunan arts and crafts masters, more than 200 nationally renowned art designers, and 1,200 alumni have created their own enterprises with assets of over 10 million yuan. A large number of industry elites have emerged, including Huang Jiancheng, the display design director of the China Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo, Wu Guoxin, the deputy chief engineer of the Shanghai World Expo, and Jin Hui, the clothing design director of the Guangzhou Asian Games. The school currently has more than 500 teachers, including 205 teachers with senior professional titles such as famous teachers and Chinese arts and crafts masters. It has established the first master studio group in domestic higher vocational colleges, and hired a large number of industry and enterprise elites represented by Liu Aiyun, the Asia-Pacific handicraft master, Liu Zongfan, and Huang Yongping, the Chinese arts and crafts master, as part-time teachers, and implemented a teaching mode in which professors and masters teach in the same classroom. The school has achieved 2 national teaching achievements, including 1 first prize and 1 second prize, 8 provincial teaching achievement awards, including 4 first prizes, and built 3 national productive training bases, 2 national dual-qualified teacher training bases, 1 national application collaborative innovation center, 2 national skill master studios, and successfully established 3 national professional teaching resource libraries. In the past five years, the school has actively carried out social services and international exchanges. In 2018, the school took the lead in initiating the establishment of the "National Vocational Colleges Precision Poverty Alleviation Cooperation Alliance", which had a significant impact in the field of national vocational education and played a major role in serving the country's major strategies and promoting the opening up and rise of Hunan. In 2019, the Hunan Traditional Crafts Research Institute was established in our school, which has positive significance for strengthening the research and construction of traditional crafts and continuously devoting itself to the inheritance and development of China's excellent traditional culture. The school organizes various vocational skills training, develops 680 cultural and creative products such as new Hunan embroidery and new Hunan porcelain, improves 51 processes, generates benefits of 468 million yuan, and develops Hunan arts and crafts and intangible cultural heritage works that have been exhibited in the United States, Chile, Pakistan, Georgia and other countries, and exports 12 standards to Pakistan and other countries related to the "Belt and Road".
