Hunan Judicial Police Officers Vocational College (abbreviated as: Hunan Police Vocational College) is the only higher vocational college with a police system in the province approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government in 2003, registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and hosted and supervised by the Hunan Provincial Department of Justice. The college was founded in 1981. It has gone through the development period of Hunan Provincial Labor Reform and Reeducation-through-Labor Cadre Secondary Vocational School and Hunan Provincial Judicial Police Officer School. In the long-term course of running schools, it has formed the spirit of the police academy with the school motto of "being virtuous and law-abiding, respecting literature and advocating martial arts" as the core, and condensed the teaching style of "being knowledgeable and good at guiding, educating police and cultivating people" and the style of study of "studying hard, practicing both literature and martial arts". Police management runs through the whole process of teaching and educating people. There are nearly 6,000 students in academic education, and an average of 8,000 people per year in on-the-job education and training. The college currently has teaching and auxiliary teaching institutions such as the Law Department, Criminal Justice Department, Correctional Education Department, Management Department, Political Education Department, Police Physical Training Department, Basic Course Department, Library, Experimental Training Center, Audio-visual Education Center, and Office, Organization and Personnel Department, Propaganda and Education Department and other party and government management and mass organizations. There are 15 majors, including criminal execution, administrative execution, criminal investigation technology, judicial information security, judicial police, psychological counseling, judicial identification technology, building fire protection technology, information security technology application, legal affairs, community correction, legal secretarial, public affairs management, social work, and administrative management. The college has a team of teachers with high moral character, reasonable structure, superb skills, and excellent teaching level. Teachers and students have won the first prize in national and provincial skill competitions many times. There are more than 300 faculty members, including 72 senior titles, 113 intermediate titles, and 86 "double-qualified" teachers. The college takes serving the construction of "rule of law Hunan, safe Hunan, and excellent judicial administration team" as its mission, and clarifies the school-running positioning of "based on judicial administration, facing the political and legal system, and serving the construction of the rule of law", the development goal positioning of "distinctive characteristics, provincial demonstration, and national leading", and the talent training goal positioning of "connecting with the needs of the front line of the industry, cultivating high-quality technical and skilled legal application talents with firm political beliefs, good style, strong skills, and physical and mental health". The college has established the first vocational education group in the national judicial administration system, forming a group-based school-running model of "school-bureau alliance, school-prison (institution) cooperation", an integrated teaching feature of "teaching, learning, training, and fighting", and a trinity of "morality, ability, and behavior" for police-based education. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the college will adhere to the party's education policy, take moral education as the fundamental task, and take "creating double highs and running undergraduates" as the goal to achieve high-quality development. The college has been established as an "excellent" school in the evaluation of the talent training level of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, and has successively won the titles of "Hunan Demonstration Higher Vocational College", "Pilot College for the Reform of the Recruitment and Training System of Political and Legal Cadres of the Central Political and Legal Commission", "Hunan Court Judicial Police Training Base", "Hunan Education and Training Base of the Central Judicial Police Officer College", "Hunan Safe University", "Hunan Civilized University", "Hunan Provincial Civilized Model Campus", "Hunan May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee" and other titles.
