Hunan Railway Science and Technology Vocational College is a public full-time college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 1956 by the former Ministry of Railways and was formerly known as Zhuzhou Railway Machinery School. In 2004, the railway was separated from the main and auxiliary, and the college was transferred from China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. to Zhuzhou Municipal Government and Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It was upgraded to a full-time higher vocational college in March 2005. In August 2013, the school was first relocated to the Vocational Education University City in Yunlong Demonstration Zone.
