Hunan University of Arts and Sciences is a full-time general undergraduate institution sponsored by the People's Government of Hunan Province. It is located in Changde City, Hunan Province, the "City in the Land of Peach Blossoms". The school began as Changde Normal College founded in 1958 (named the National Excellent Teachers College in 1988). In 1999, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and named Changde Normal College. In 2003, it changed its name to its current name. The school has brought together the subject and professional advantages of six schools, including Changde Normal College, Changde College, Changde Branch of Hunan Agricultural College, Changde Education College, Changde Art School, and Changde Urban and Rural Construction Vocational and Technical School. So far, it has 66 Years of higher education history. The school has distinctive features in normal education and agricultural sciences, and is known as the "cradle of teachers and agricultural wisdom bank in northwestern Hunan".
