Huzhou Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college sponsored by the Huzhou Municipal People's Government and approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. The school is located in Huzhou, Zhejiang, the central area of the Yangtze River Delta, the south bank of Taihu Lake, a national historical and cultural city, and a national ecological civilization pilot demonstration zone. The school was formerly the Jiaxing Supply and Marketing Technical School, Jiaxing Grain Technical School, and Zhejiang Radio and Television University Jiaxing Branch, which were founded in 1979. It began higher vocational education in 1999. The school covers an area of 601 acres and a building area of 260,000 square meters. The campus has typical Jiangnan regional characteristics and a strong humanistic atmosphere. The school has strong comprehensive strength and is one of the first batch of demonstration universities for party building work in Zhejiang Province and the first batch of demonstration party and mass service centers for universities. From 2021 to 2022, the provincial government's education supervision and evaluation ranked among the top higher vocational colleges in the province, and the first-level indicator "Party Building" ranked among the top 3 in the province for two consecutive years. In 2023, the most beautiful mountain university campus with an area of 1,200 acres, a total construction area of about 600,000 square meters, 16,000 students, and 1,300 faculty and staff will be officially started. The school has 10 secondary colleges, including the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Elevator, the School of New Energy Engineering and Automobile, the School of Information Engineering and Internet of Things, the School of Economic Management and E-commerce, the School of Tourism Management, the School of Art and Fashion Creativity, the School of Social Development and Public Education, the School of Continuing Education, and the School of Marxism, with 12,000 full-time students. There are more than 700 faculty members, including 202 senior professional titles, 589 master and doctoral teachers, including 111 doctors, and 96% of them are "double-qualified" professional teachers. The school currently has 7 national key training platforms, 16 provincial demonstration training bases and platforms, and 7 municipal key laboratories. The "Around Taihu Model Worker and Craftsman College" jointly established by the five cities of Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Jiaxing and Huzhou has settled in the school. The Huzhou Public Training Center located on campus has become a public service platform integrating teaching, training, skill appraisal and technology research and development in modern vocational education in the region.
