Jiandong Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general college approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and registered by the Ministry of Education, engaged in higher education. The college is a "China Civil Aviation Administration registered aviation safety officer qualification training unit", "Jiangsu Province Lifelong Education Credit Bank Cooperation Alliance Member Unit", and has been rated as "Jiangsu Province Safe Campus", "Jiangsu Province 'Arts and Engineering Dual-channel' Talent Training Innovation Experimental Base", "Changzhou's First Batch of Veterans Education and Training Internship Demonstration Base". The college is located in Changzhou, Jiangsu, the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, in the Changzhou National High-tech Development Zone, south of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, and adjacent to the Changzhou High-speed Railway Station. The developed economic foundation, long historical accumulation, and unique geographical location provide reliable guarantees for the development of the college. The campus is planned to cover an area of 340,000 square meters (504 acres), with a total construction area of 453,600 square meters and a library collection of 300,000 books. It has advanced campus network facilities and audio-visual systems, a modern education center and 44 laboratories, which better meet the needs of teaching, experiments and training. The college currently has six secondary colleges, including the Aviation Service College, the Intelligent Manufacturing and Computer College, the Economics and Trade Management College, the Art and Architecture College, the Marxism College, and the Humanities and Basics College. It offers 31 majors, including mechanical manufacturing, civil aviation management, computer application technology, big data and accounting, construction engineering, and visual communication design. The college has clear educational goals and a clear educational philosophy. It mainly serves the economic and social development of Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and the Yangtze River Delta region, and cultivates high-quality, technical and skilled talents. The college adheres to the purpose of service, employment-oriented, professional construction as the leader, and faculty construction as the focus, strengthening the basic construction of teaching and improving the quality of education and teaching. The college has a faculty team composed of professional leaders from famous provincial and municipal universities with senior titles, rich teaching experience, and profound academic attainments, and young and middle-aged teachers, mainly graduate students. Among them, teachers with senior titles and dual-teacher qualities are as high as more than 70%, thus ensuring the teaching quality of the college. The college's "Mechatronic Control Technology Professional Group" was selected as a provincial key professional group by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. The provincial government invested 280,000 yuan to build a provincial "Mechatronic Technology Application Training Base". During the preparation of the training base, the provincial government awarded 1 million yuan in funds; the mechanical manufacturing major's graduation design "Design, Manufacturing and Simulation of Showers" and "Design and Simulation of Staplers" won the third prize of Jiangsu Higher Vocational Colleges; the student graduation design won the first prize of Jiangsu Provincial General Colleges and Universities' Excellent Graduation Design (Paper); the applied electronics major "Electronic Product Drawing and Plate Making" was rated as a provincial-level boutique course in Jiangsu Province; the interdisciplinary "Art and Engineering Dual-channel" talent training model jointly applied by our college and Changzhou Creative Industry Park was rated as an innovative experimental base by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. This is an outstanding achievement of the college's emphasis on connotation construction in recent years. The college actively practices the concept of integration of industry and education, reforms the talent training model through school-enterprise cooperation, integration of work and study, and comprehensively improves students' comprehensive quality and professional skills. In the teaching process, we emphasize the applicability and pertinence, strengthen the cultivation of practical ability, implement the "integration of teaching, learning and doing", and implement the multiple certificate system of graduation certificate and professional qualification certificate, so that the knowledge, ability and quality of students can be coordinated and developed healthily, laying the foundation for the "zero distance" connection between students' graduation and employment.
