Jiangmen Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public general higher vocational college officially established in July 2004. The school is located on the bank of the Xijiang River in Jiangmen, covers an area of more than 1,100 acres, has more than 800 faculty and staff, and more than 15,000 full-time students. It is a "National Vocational College Charming Campus" and "2022 National Brand Influential Vocational College" (only 3 higher vocational colleges in the province were selected). The school takes "virtue, ability, learning, and application" as its motto, and adheres to the school-running philosophy of "establishing the school with technology, educating people with culture, running schools in an open manner, and serving the hometown of overseas Chinese". In 2018, it became a model higher vocational college in Guangdong Province, and ranked among the top 150 in the ranking of higher vocational colleges in China in 2020. In 2022, it was selected as a provincial high-level higher vocational college and the "School-Enterprise Collaborative Employment Entrepreneurship Innovation Demonstration Practice Base" construction unit of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In 2023, the "Innovation and Strengthening School Project" assessment jumped to the 15th place in the A-level higher vocational colleges in the province, and 7 majors were listed in the GDI think tank's higher vocational college A-level majors (ranked 199th in the country and 13th in the province). The school accurately connects with the needs of regional industrial and social development, and has 8 secondary colleges including the School of Marxism, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Equipment, the School of Materials and Food, the School of Humanities Education, the School of Art and Design, and the School of Continuing Education, with a total of 45 majors, of which 6 majors are carried out with undergraduate colleges. There are 9 national key majors and provincial key (brand) majors, 6 provincial high-level professional groups under construction; 19 provincial and above training bases have been built, including 6 national ones. Won 1 national first textbook construction award. The school teaching team combines full-time and part-time teachers, and has strong faculty. There are nearly 200 teachers with senior professional titles, 14 high-level skilled part-time teachers, and 82.98% of full-time teachers with "double-qualified" teachers. There is 1 person who enjoys the special government allowance of the State Council, 1 national vocational education teacher innovation team, 7 provincial teaching innovation teams, 2 provincial skill master studios, 4 provincial industry mentors, 3 provincial industry mentor teams, and provincial vocational education "double-qualified" famous teacher studios, "double-qualified" teacher training bases, doctoral workstations, etc. The school strives to build a long-term mechanism for the coordinated linkage of "government, school, meeting, park, enterprise + overseas Chinese". Co-build Xinning College with Taishan City, and co-build Jiangmen CPPCC Member College with the Municipal CPPCC. The Jiangmen Vocational Education Federation (Jiangmen Vocational Education Group), which was established in the lead, is the first vocational education social group with independent legal personality in Guangdong Province. It has jointly built a municipal consortium with Jiangmen National High-tech Zone, and continued to strengthen in-depth cooperation with industrial parks such as Jiangmen Torch Entrepreneurship Park, Xinhui Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, and Fengshan Lake Park; signed a strategic cooperation agreement on industry-education integration with Haier Group, and cooperated with leading enterprises such as Sinopec, Huawei, China Unicom, and Haimuxing to jointly build a number of industrial colleges; built the first Huawei 5G mobile communication high-quality technical and skilled talent training base in Guangdong Province; carried out modern apprenticeship pilot and order class talent training with leading enterprises such as CRRC, Hisense, and Johnson Electric. The school was selected as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Root Technology Joint Innovation Talent Industry-Education Integration Base, the first batch of community members of the "Ministry of Education's Informatization Support Vocational College School-Enterprise Cooperation Professional Co-construction Project", the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Industry-Education Integration Demonstration Training Base, and the "National News and Animation Communication Demonstration Platform". The major of mechatronics technology and the Institute of Laser Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Industry were respectively recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as the major of industry-education integration and the specialized and new industry college. "Relying on the two-way empowerment of industry-education integration of industry and education to create a community of destiny for government, campus, enterprise and overseas Chinese" was rated as an excellent case of cooperation in the construction of industry-education integration by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In recent years, the school has actively built a technical skills innovation service platform, built 21 scientific research platforms at the provincial and municipal levels, and presided over more than 100 scientific research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and provincial and ministerial levels. The school signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the municipal overseas Chinese affairs department to jointly build the Overseas Chinese Affairs Consulting Institute, assist the "Overseas Chinese Empowerment" project, provide strong overseas Chinese intellectual support for the local area, and form a "two introductions and three services" system with distinctive "overseas Chinese" characteristics (introducing excellent culture from the hometown of overseas Chinese, introducing overseas Chinese resources to run schools; serving local governments, overseas Chinese-funded enterprises, and overseas Chinese). The school insists on creating a high-quality international cooperative vocational education model to serve the countries along the "Belt and Road" and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Together with the Macau Institute of Tourism, it initiated the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Tourism Vocational Education Alliance to introduce and promote the Macau Vocational Skills Recognition Standard (MORS). It has established cooperative relations with many overseas colleges and universities or scientific and educational institutions, such as Flinders University in Australia, Waiariki Polytechnic in New Zealand, City University of Malaysia, University of Sao Paulo in the Philippines, Tung Wah College in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Institute of Higher Education and Technology, Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and Chinese Education Alliance in the Dutch Caribbean, and carried out in-depth cooperation in projects such as teacher training, student training, academic research, and exchange visits to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents with an international perspective. The school is committed to educating people with ingenuity, and students are both moral and technical. It has built a unique "12209" three-dimensional education and political pattern with the characteristics of Jiangzhi, introduced the national intangible cultural heritage "Cai Li Fo Quan" with the characteristics of the hometown of overseas Chinese, and took the lead in offering a compulsory public physical education course in martial arts among higher vocational colleges across the country. It has appeared on the stage of CCTV's 2020 Spring Festival Gala of Operas, and has been selected twice by the Ministry of Education to promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture. The school has been selected as the "National Vocational College Traditional Skills Inheritance and Demonstration Base". In recent years, students of Jiangzhi have repeatedly achieved good results in various competitions, winning more than 430 national and provincial awards. In the 2023 National Vocational College Skills Competition, the total number of national and provincial awards ranked among the top 6 higher vocational colleges in Guangdong. It won the first prize in the 18th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition. It is the only higher vocational college in Guangdong Province to win the first prize, creating the best results of Guangdong higher vocational colleges in the "Challenge Cup" national competition for philosophy and social science survey reports. It is also the only higher vocational college in the province in the past 15 years that has won the "Challenge Cup" Guangdong College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition for eight consecutive times. The school has trained more than 100,000 graduates of various types and is widely known as "a business card for Jiangmen City's investment promotion". The graduates' destinations have long been at the forefront of higher vocational colleges in the province, and it is an advanced unit for employment of college graduates in Guangdong Province.
