Jiangsu Food and Drug Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general college sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. It is a national demonstrative (backbone) higher vocational college, a high-level higher vocational school and professional construction unit with Chinese characteristics, a national high-quality higher vocational college, the first batch of healthy school construction units in the country, a national caring childcare employer, a high-level higher vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province, the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Education's "Higher Vocational School Learning Achievement Accumulation and Conversion Pilot Project" unit, a National Natural Science Foundation-based unit, and the first batch of national demonstrative vocational education groups (alliances) cultivation units. It is the initiator and permanent secretary-general unit of the China Food and Drug Vocational Education Alliance, a member of the China Food College Alliance, the chairman unit of the Jiangsu Food Vocational Education Group, the vice chairman unit of the Jiangsu Food Industry Association and the Jiangsu Catering Industry Association, the first batch of municipal industry-education consortium cultivation units in Jiangsu Province, and the Jiangsu Provincial Food Biotechnology Professional Talent Training Model Innovation Experimental Base. The school is located in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, the hometown of the great man Zhou Enlai. It is close to the Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Wu Chengen's former residence, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Hongze Lake and other tourist attractions. The environment is fresh and elegant, and the cultural atmosphere is strong. It is an important commercial port in the highland of Taiwanese investment and the Jianghuai Plain. It is also an emerging transportation hub with high-speed rail, airports, railways, highways and other travel modes. In the more than 60 years of school-running history, the school has always kept pace with the times and made progress with the industry, making outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of Jiangsu and the revitalization of the industry. In 2008, it was selected by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Department of Finance as a demonstration higher vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province; in 2010, it was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as a key higher vocational college project construction unit of the "National Demonstration Higher Vocational College Construction Plan"; in 2011, it successfully passed the provincial demonstration higher vocational college project construction acceptance; in 2015, it passed the construction acceptance of the key higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education at a high level; in 2018, it was selected as a high-level higher vocational college construction unit in Jiangsu Province; in 2019, it became a national high-quality higher vocational college, was selected into the Chinese characteristic high-level higher vocational school and professional construction plan, and was approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Fund-supporting unit; in 2023, it was selected as one of the top 25 typical colleges in the governance system of higher vocational education institutions in China, the first batch of provincial field engineer special training programs, and the provincial vocational education demonstration virtual simulation training base cultivation project. The school currently has a School of Food, a School of Pharmacy, a School of Pharmaceutical Engineering, a School of Health Medicine, a School of Nursing, a School of Hotel, a School of Digital Economy, a School of Artificial Intelligence, a School of Intelligent Manufacturing, an Undergraduate School, and an International Education School. There are 16 industrial colleges such as intelligent manufacturing jointly built by schools and enterprises. There are 39 majors such as food intelligent processing technology, food and drug supervision and management, pharmacy, Chinese medicine, drug production technology, drug quality and safety, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, traditional Chinese medicine health care, nursing, infant and child care services and management, cooking technology and nutrition, covering the fields of food, medicine, health medicine and other large health industries. It has one national "Double High Plan" professional group, four provincial high-level professional groups, six key majors supported by the Central Finance, five national backbone majors, and five provincial brand and backbone majors; it takes the lead in building two national teaching resource libraries, four high-quality online courses, one provincial professional teaching resource library, and 13 provincial online high-quality courses; it has two "4+0" joint training applied undergraduate programs for higher vocational undergraduates and six "3+2" segmented training programs for higher vocational undergraduates; it has three affiliated hospitals, one clinical medical school, two industry-education integration communities, two national training bases, three provincial training bases, three industry-education integration platforms, one municipal industry-education consortium, five key engineering experimental centers, and two virtual simulation training bases; it has one national teacher training base, one national teaching innovation team, and four provincial ones. The school has 256 experimental training rooms in 13 categories, including food intelligent processing, pharmacy, drug production, nursing, infant care, health management, cooking technology, intelligent control, computer network, and e-commerce, 10 provincial and municipal scientific research platforms, and experimental training equipment with a total value of 2.300 million. It has built the largest food technology park among similar colleges in the country, a provincial-level virtual simulation training center for food and medicine, a provincial-level "nutrition +" health management training center, and multiple production lines such as puffing intelligence, pure water intelligence, baking, meat products, dairy products, beer, rice wine, wine, liquor, candy and chocolate. The school has produced more than 80,000 qualified graduates in the past 60 years, who have made outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
