Jiangsu Health Vocational College is a provincial public full-time medical and health college, a provincial model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province, with a 90-year history of running schools, and is affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission. The main source of the school is the National Central Midwifery School founded in 1933. It has gone through the National Central Advanced Midwifery Vocational School, East China Midwifery School, Nanjing First Midwifery School, Jiangsu Nanjing Midwifery School, Nanjing Health School, and Jiangsu Workers' Medical College. In the historical period of the university, it left the footprints of many famous teachers such as Yang Chongrui, Qu Jinqin, Sun Shiying, Chen Jiazheng, Huang Mengyu, etc. It is one of the earliest modern health colleges in China. Another source of the school is the Nursing School of the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, founded in 1958. It has gone through development periods such as the Health School of the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Jiangsu Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jiangsu Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the first school in the country to offer traditional Chinese medicine nursing. With the approval of the provincial government, the Provincial Department of Health integrated and optimized provincial medical education resources from 2002 to 2005, successively integrating the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Medical Information, the Jiangsu Provincial Health Statistical Information Center, the Jiangsu Provincial Health Talent Training Center, and the Jiangsu Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine School. Merged into Jiangsu Workers' Medical University and prepared to establish Jiangsu Health Vocational and Technical College.
