Jiangsu Vocational College of Commerce and Trade is located in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, the "first modern city in China". Its predecessor was the "Nantong District and City Commercial Workers School of Jiangsu Province" founded in 1956. It was renamed "Nantong Commercial School" in 1965 and "Nantong Supply and Marketing School of Jiangsu Province" in 1978. In 2003, it was promoted to "Nantong Higher Vocational School of Commerce of Jiangsu Province". In 2013, it was upgraded to a provincial higher vocational college "Jiangsu Vocational College of Commerce and Trade". It is a full-time public higher vocational college affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperatives. The school is a national supply and marketing cooperative demonstration higher vocational college, and in 2021 it was selected as a construction unit of Jiangsu Province's high-level higher vocational schools with Chinese characteristics. The school currently has more than 13,000 full-time students and more than 600 faculty and staff; it has 12 secondary colleges and teaching departments, including the School of Digital Business and Intelligent Logistics, the School of Accounting and Finance, the School of Humanities and Tourism, the School of Electronics and Information, the School of Construction Engineering and Management, the World Expo Art and Media School, the Cooperative College, the School of International Education and Exchange, the School of Marxism, the Department of General Education, the Department of Military and Sports, and the School of Continuing Education; it offers more than 40 majors and has established training centers such as accounting and finance, trade, logistics, the Internet of Things and software, construction engineering, electronics, and artistic creativity; the school closely follows the needs of the industry, focuses on modern service industries, and connects with regional strategic emerging pillar industries, and has built six major professional clusters including finance and commerce, e-commerce logistics, information technology, tourism and leisure, civil engineering, and humanities and arts. The school has more than 50 talents, including famous teachers in Jiangsu universities, the provincial "333 high-level talent training project", Jiangsu industrial professors, young and middle-aged academic leaders of the "Qinglan Project" of Jiangsu universities, and excellent teaching teams. The school has won the first prize of the National Vocational College Vocational Skills Competition more than 10 times in logistics, accounting, customs declaration, and customs skills competitions. Since its establishment, the school has trained and supplied more than 80,000 high-quality, high-skilled, and application-oriented professionals for the society. The school has deepened the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation. Two cases were selected as typical cases of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation by the Ministry of Education. The government, school, bank and enterprise cooperated to build the Internet of Things Industry College, Zhengbao Digital Intelligence Industry College, the Mixed-ownership Expo Art and Media College, and the Hailan Live E-commerce Industry College. The "Digital Supply and Marketing +" school-enterprise collaborative employment and entrepreneurship innovation demonstration practice base approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has been built, and 6 majors have been rated as demonstration majors for industry-education integration. One provincial-level vocational education skills inheritance and innovation platform has been completed, and one provincial vocational education school-enterprise cooperation demonstration combination cultivation project has been rated. The school strengthens external cooperation and exchanges, actively explores and expands the construction of modern vocational education system through-training projects, and cooperates with 5 undergraduate colleges such as Yancheng Institute of Technology and Nanjing Institute of Media to carry out the "3+2" through-training project for higher vocational undergraduates. We continue to promote the "professional to master" cooperation project with Shannon University of Technology in Ireland and Middlesex University in the UK, and the "dual system" alternating work and study cooperation project with WBS Education Group in Germany. We have been approved by the Ministry of Education for the "Humanities Exchange and Economics Project" and built the "Jiangsu Business School Economics School" at the Watrayalongkorn Rajabhat University in Thailand to cooperate in cultivating international skilled talents in the smart logistics industry. The school has been awarded the first batch of national logistics vocational education talent training bases, national international business talent training bases, and the first batch of vocational education skills teaching and research bases in Jiangsu Province. It has won the titles of National Supply and Marketing Cooperative System Advanced Collective, Jiangsu Province Vocational Education and Social Education Advanced Unit, Jiangsu Province Vocational College Skills Competition Advanced Unit, Jiangsu Province Civilized Campus, Jiangsu Province Smart Campus, etc. Entering a new stage of development, the school is gathering forces from all sides, focusing on connotation construction, innovating systems and mechanisms, and striving to create a high-level vocational school with Chinese characteristics, and uniting and striving for the comprehensive construction of industry benchmarks and regional leading high-level characteristic famous schools.
