Jiangsu Vocational and Technical College of Finance and Economics was approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province on July 15, 2004 and registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It was established by merging the two national key technical secondary schools, the former Jiangsu Huaiyin School of Finance and Economics and the Jiangsu Huaihai Industrial and Trade School. The school is affiliated to the Provincial Department of Education. The predecessors of the school, Jiangsu Huaiyin School of Finance and Economics and Jiangsu Huaihai Industrial and Trade School, were respectively under the jurisdiction of the Provincial Department of Finance and the Provincial Bureau of Grain. They were founded in 1964 and 1979. The former was originally named Huaiyin Regional Accounting Vocational School. In 1965, the school was renamed Huaiyin Regional Accounting Secondary Vocational School. Affected by the Cultural Revolution, it was closed in June 1969. After the school was reopened in 1971, it was successively renamed Jiangsu Huaiyin Regional Accounting School, July 21 University of Finance and Economics, Jiangsu Huaiyin Regional School of Finance and Economics, Huaiyin City School of Finance and Economics and Jiangsu Huaiyin School of Finance and Economics. After the college entrance examination was resumed in 1977, it once shared offices with Jiangsu Banking School, with one set of institutions and two brands. The latter was renamed Jiangsu Huaiyin Grain Technical School. In 1983, it was renamed Jiangsu Huaiyin Grain School. In 1994, the school was renamed Jiangsu Huaihai Industrial and Trade School. Over the past 60 years, the school has provided nearly 60,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for the finance, taxation, finance, marketing, law, grain, machinery and other departments and industries in Jiangsu Province and even the whole country.
