The predecessor of Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the school) was Jiangxi Fuzhou Health School established in 1958. In 1986, it was changed to Jiangxi Fuzhou School of Traditional Chinese Medicine; in 1998, it was renamed Jiangxi Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and in May 2004, it was upgraded to Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The school is one of the earliest colleges of traditional Chinese medicine in the country, a new type of characteristic college that the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine focuses on building, and the only college of traditional Chinese medicine in Jiangxi Province. The school currently has two campuses, Gandong Avenue Campus and Wenchang Avenue Campus, covering an area of more than 1,000 acres. The school is a full-time general college jointly organized by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and the People's Government of Fuzhou City, and is under the jurisdiction of the People's Government of Fuzhou City. The school's education form is mainly full-time college education, taking into account high and secondary vocational education and continuing education, and cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents who are adapted to the production, construction, management, and service needs of the traditional Chinese medicine industry and the rehabilitation and health care market. The school has set up "three departments and four departments" (medical department, pharmacy department, nursing department and ideological and political theory teaching department, basic medical teaching department, public basic teaching department, and adult education department), and has opened 15 majors including traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, traditional Chinese medicine bone injury, medical cosmetology technology, medical inspection technology, rehabilitation therapy technology, traditional Chinese medicine health care, traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine pharmaceutical technology, drug preparation technology, pharmacy, drug operation and management, nursing, midwifery, smart health care services and management, forming four major professional groups of traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, nursing, and rehabilitation health care. It has 2 majors that are supported by the central government (traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine), 1 training base that is supported by the central government (traditional Chinese medicine preparation training base), and 1 provincial-level training center that is supported by the provincial government (nursing training center). The school has been approved as a national traditional Chinese medicine practitioner examination base, a national traditional Chinese medicine school (Yujiang Medicine) construction base, and a traditional Chinese medicine culture communication base in Jiangxi Province. It has jointly trained undergraduate technical and skilled talents in traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, and nursing with Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The school has a strong faculty, including a group of national famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, national outstanding teachers, famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Jiangxi Province, Jiangxi Province's hundreds of thousands of talents, young and middle-aged academic leaders in provincial colleges and universities, young and middle-aged backbone teachers in provincial colleges and universities, famous teachers in Jiangxi Province, and models of teaching and educating in Jiangxi Province. Many of them are experts who enjoy special allowances from the State Council, the provincial government, and the municipal government. The English teaching team won the first prize in the finals of the National College Foreign Language Teaching Competition, the "Situation and Policy" course won the second prize in the national college ideological and political theory teaching demonstration, and the editor-in-chief "Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine" won the second prize in the national excellent textbook (vocational education category).
