Jiangxi Science & Technology Normal University is located in Nanchang, a historical and cultural city with a reputation for "rich resources, outstanding people and beautiful scenery" and "the place where the military flag is raised". The school is a public multi-disciplinary undergraduate college for the training of vocational education teachers, an important base for national vocational education research, a key construction base for the training of vocational education teachers, one of the earliest eight independent vocational and technical normal colleges in the country, and the only undergraduate college in Jiangxi Province that features the training of vocational teachers. It is a publicly funded normal student training college in Jiangxi Province, mainly training vocational teachers, general teachers and other applied senior professionals. After more than 70 years of construction and development, the school has formed a multi-disciplinary and multi-level school-running pattern with undergraduate and graduate education as the main body. In 2008, the school passed the undergraduate teaching work level evaluation of the Ministry of Education with an "excellent" score, and accepted the review and evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education in 2018. The evaluation experts also fully affirmed the school's solid teaching work, obvious school-running results and distinctive school-running characteristics. The school was approved as a master's degree-granting institution in 2006, and is a newly added doctoral degree-granting institution in Jiangxi Province during the "14th Five-Year Plan". History Jiangxi University of Science and Technology is mainly composed of the former Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology, and Nanchang College of Higher Education was incorporated into it. Nanchang College of Higher Education began in 1952; the predecessor of Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology was the Nanchang Branch of Jiangxi Normal University established in 1977, which was renamed Nanchang Normal College in 1984, upgraded to Nanchang Vocational and Technical Normal College in 1987, and renamed Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology in 2002. In 2004, Nanchang College of Higher Education was merged into Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology, and in 2012 the school was renamed Jiangxi University of Science and Technology; in 2014, it was placed under the jurisdiction of the provincial universities. The school consciously fulfills the responsibility and mission of "educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country", adheres to the teacher education tradition of "high learning as a teacher, high moral character as a model", abides by the school motto of "Mingde Jingye", promotes the school spirit of "unity, progress, self-reliance and self-renewal", establishes the teaching style of "teaching and educating people with great virtue and erudition", and practices the style of study of "high aspirations, diligence and innovation". It insists on empowering vocational education with red culture as its feature, "science and technology +" and "normal +" as its feature, and innovation of application-oriented talent training system as its feature. It overcomes difficulties, reforms and innovates, and strives to build a first-class vocational and technical normal university in the country. The disciplines and majors have 14 first-level disciplines authorized to grant master's degrees and 16 categories authorized to grant master's professional degrees. It has 2 disciplines ranked in the top 1% of the world by ESI (chemistry and materials science), 2 disciplines with potential for the provincial 14th Five-Year Plan "Double First-Class" project construction (education and chemistry), and 1 provincial high-level discipline (design). There are 61 undergraduate majors for enrollment, involving 10 disciplines such as education, science, engineering, management, art, economics, literature, history, and law, and 13 undergraduate majors have achieved first-class enrollment. It has 2 national characteristic professional construction sites (applied chemistry, tourism management) and 9 national first-class undergraduate construction sites (applied chemistry, electronic information engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, financial management, tourism management, etc.), 27 provincial first-class professional construction sites, and 18 provincial characteristic and brand majors. There are 16 provincial teaching teams, 5 provincial teaching experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 103 provincial boutique courses, curriculum ideological and political normal courses, etc. It has been approved by the Ministry of Education for the virtual teaching and research room for the teaching development research of "double-qualified" teachers in vocational schools, the Ministry of Education's new engineering research and practice project, and the new liberal arts research and reform practice project. It has won 233 national or Ministry of Education quality engineering construction projects and 12 projects of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance's vocational teacher quality improvement plan. The faculty currently has 1,776 faculty members, including 1,488 full-time teachers, 639 professional and technical personnel with associate senior or higher professional and technical positions, and 504 teachers with doctoral degrees. The school conditions mainly include Fenglin Campus and Hongjiaozhou Campus, covering an area of 2,159.19 acres, with a school building area of 706,000 square meters, a total value of 339.7161 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment, and 2.807 million paper books. There are 478 on-campus teaching experiments and training sites and 773 off-campus internship training bases. Among them, the basic chemistry, basic physics and metalworking training centers are school-level basic experimental training centers, and the vocational teacher skills training center, electronic and electrical engineering, computer basic experimental teaching center and tourism management teaching training center are provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, which fully meet the requirements of practical teaching and have established a complete public service system. Talent training has trained more than 141,000 graduates, making positive contributions to the economic and social development of the country and Jiangxi. The Vocational Education Base School is a national key vocational education teacher training base of the Ministry of Education, a national vocational school teacher quality improvement plan base, and a national vocational education "dual-qualified" teacher training base. It has been approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Government and the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education as the Jiangxi Vocational Teacher Training Center and the Jiangxi Provincial Teacher Qualification Interview Direct Examination Center Management Office.
