Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1959 and is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, which is "rich in resources and talented in people". The school is a public undergraduate university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. The school adheres to the school-running purpose of "serving the national reform and development, serving the development of traditional Chinese medicine, serving the local economic development and the overall social progress", and promotes the school motto of "only learning, only people, seeking strength, and seeking excellence". With the goal of "cultivating practical, innovative and entrepreneurial talents who are adaptable to social progress and the development of traditional Chinese medicine and have market competitiveness", the school strives to run a university that satisfies the people. It has become a higher traditional Chinese medicine college with traditional Chinese medicine education as the main body, coordinated development of multiple disciplines, and distinctive characteristics of combining production, learning and research. The school currently has more than 19,000 full-time students, 17 educational and teaching institutions, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, and 9 non-directly affiliated hospitals. The school takes traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese pharmacy as the main disciplines, and coordinates the development of multiple disciplines such as medicine, science, engineering, literature, economics, management, art, and education. There are 3 first-class disciplines in Jiangxi Province, 18 key disciplines of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 7 national key clinical specialties (special diseases). There are 33 undergraduate majors, including 21 academic majors. There are 6 national first-class professional construction sites and 15 provincial first-class professional construction sites. It has the qualification to recommend outstanding undergraduate graduates to study for a master's degree without examination and the "5+3" integrated enrollment of traditional Chinese medicine majors. The school has 4 national scientific research platforms, including national key laboratories and the National Engineering Research Center for Solid Preparation Manufacturing Technology of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There are 58 provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms, including 7 third-level laboratories of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 1 key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, 1 provincial and ministerial collaborative innovation center, 1 academician workstation, 12 provincial key laboratories, 5 provincial engineering research centers, and 4 provincial collaborative innovation centers. The school advocates and practices the concept of "double-minded education", and has successively carried out a series of educational and teaching reforms and practices such as scientific research practice classes and double-minded practice classes. The results have won 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes at the national level for teaching achievements. Among them, the "Double-Wei Practice Education Model" presided over by the school is the only first prize for national teaching achievements in higher education in Jiangxi Province so far. The school founded the Qihuang National Medical College, opening up a new model of "college-style" training of high-level clinical talents in traditional Chinese medicine. The school was awarded "excellent" in the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work level of the Ministry of Education, and successfully passed the undergraduate teaching work review and evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education and the certification of traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and pharmacy. The research and development of "Pulsatilla Saponin Extract and Pulsatilla Saponin Extract Injection" was approved as a national Class II new veterinary drug, marking a major breakthrough in Jiangxi veterinary drug research. The two international standards for traditional Chinese medicine, "Requirements for the whole process traceability system of Chinese medicinal materials and Chinese medicinal preparations - Part 1: Elements" and "Requirements for the whole process traceability system of Chinese medicinal materials and Chinese medicinal preparations - Part 2: Electronic Labels", which were formulated by the school and approved and issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), are breakthrough achievements in the standardization work of our school. The school has outstanding advantages in disciplines such as Chinese medicine pharmacy, acupuncture and massage, and Chinese medicine processing. The discipline of Chinese medicine ranks among the top in the country. The ESI rankings of clinical medicine and pharmacology and toxicology are among the top 1% and 5‰ in the world respectively. Chinese medicine processing was approved as the first batch of national Chinese medicine processing technology inheritance bases. The original innovative achievement - the theory and technology of "thermosensitive moxibustion" has innovated a new way to treat diseases with endogenous thermosensitive regulation, and created a pattern of "looking at Tianjin acupuncture in the north and Jiangxi moxibustion in the south". The school relies on three directly affiliated hospitals to serve the people's health. The directly affiliated hospital, Jiangxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Jiangxi Provincial Orthopedic Hospital, Jiangxi Provincial Anorectal Hospital), is the leading and central hospital of Jiangxi's traditional Chinese medicine medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and preventive health care. It is the largest, most comprehensive, most technically advanced, and closely integrated tertiary-level A-class TCM hospital in the province, with an annual service volume of one million people. It was selected as a construction unit of the National Center for the Inheritance and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been awarded dozens of honorary titles such as "National Advanced Unit of the Health System" and "National Advanced Collective of the Medical and Health System". It is a construction unit of the National Clinical Research Base of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the chairman unit of the Jiangxi Provincial Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The national regional medical center project led by the affiliated hospital, Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangxi Hospital, was approved as the fourth batch of construction projects of the national regional medical center, and has been successfully unveiled and put into operation. It is making every effort to create a new driving force, new model, new height, and new business card to lead the high-quality development of Jiangxi's traditional Chinese medicine industry. The Second Affiliated Hospital was approved as a "tertiary-level A-class hospital integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine" in 2018. The school founded the world's first thermosensitive moxibustion hospital, Jiangxi Thermosensitive Moxibustion Hospital, and established the Jiangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation (Thermosensitive Moxibustion) Alliance. It co-built and co-managed the Jiangxi Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) with the Nanchang Municipal People's Government. During the anti-epidemic period, the school bravely took on the responsibility and mission, took the lead in formulating the Jiangxi New Crown Pneumonia Traditional Chinese Medicine Prevention and Treatment Plan, established the first pure traditional Chinese and Western medicine designated treatment hospital outside Wuhan, and deeply intervened in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of new crown pneumonia. It sent a number of medical teams to support Shangrao Qianshan, Shanghai, and Nanchang to fight the epidemic, and organized traditional Chinese medicine experts to assist Uzbekistan in fighting the epidemic. The President of Uzbekistan wrote a special letter to President Xi Jinping to express his gratitude. The school has a distinctive combination of industry, academia, and research, and has created and developed a national high-tech enterprise, Jiangzhong (Pharmaceutical) Group. It has provided nearly 300 technical services to enterprises across the country, developed more than 70 traditional Chinese medicines and related products, and 16 products have achieved annual sales of more than 100 million yuan for a single product. The key technologies and equipment of the traditional Chinese medicine pharmaceutical series developed by the school have been adopted by more than 100 companies. Won the "China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award" and "China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Award" issued by the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association. The school is one of the first institutions of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education to accept foreign students. It has established long-term cooperative relations with more than 30 countries and regions, recruited doctoral students from abroad, and built the Confucius Institute of Semyung University in South Korea. It founded China's first high-end platform to provide Chinese medicine experience services for foreign dignitaries-Qihuang Traditional Chinese Medicine Foreign Dignitaries Jiangzhong Experience Center. Together with the Education Development Research Center of the Ministry of Education of China and Jiangzhong Group, it co-founded China's first "National Traditional Chinese Medicine Education Internationalization (Nanchang) Experimental Zone". It took the lead in establishing the Thermosensitive Moxibustion Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and successively opened Chinese medicine centers or thermosensitive moxibustion branches in Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Canada and other countries. It has established Chinese medicine centers in Portugal, Sweden, Tunisia and other countries, and established the "Global Traditional Medicine Research Institute" with Chinese and foreign universities such as the University of Adelaide in Australia. The school successfully co-organized the 2021 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Traditional Medicine Forum, adding a bright "color of Jiangzhong" to the conference and receiving praise from domestic and foreign guests.
