Jiangxi Vocational College of Applied Technology is a full-time public higher vocational college sponsored by the Jiangxi Provincial Government and supervised by the Provincial Department of Natural Resources. It is located in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. Founded in May 1958, it was originally a college directly under the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources. It has gone through five development stages: Jiangxi Institute of Geology, Jiangxi Provincial Geological School, Ganzhou Geological School, Southern Industrial School, and Jiangxi Vocational College of Applied Technology. The school is a construction unit of China's characteristic high-level professional group (A grade), a national high-quality junior college, a national backbone higher vocational college, a high-level higher vocational college in Jiangxi Province, the first batch of demonstration higher vocational colleges in Jiangxi Province, and the first batch of pilot colleges for applied technical undergraduate talents. The school campus covers an area of 1,255.41 acres, with total assets of 779 million yuan, and teaching and scientific research equipment worth 182 million yuan. There are 11 teaching institutions and 21,000 full-time students. The school is guided by the national high-level professional group "Land and Resources Survey and Management Professional Group", focusing on the sustained high-quality development of the natural resources industry, the construction of Jiangxi Inland Open Economic Pilot Zone and Ganzhou's "Two Cities, Two Valleys and Two Belts" development strategy, seizing the opportunity to build Ganzhou, Jiangxi Provincial Sub-Center, and in accordance with the logic of adapting to industrial needs and the logic of professional group formation, the original majors are structurally reorganized and optimized, and a "1+2+3" professional group structure with optimized structure, prominent focus, advanced connotation and resource sharing has been constructed (namely, 1 high-level professional group with Chinese characteristics-"Land and Resources Survey and Management Professional Group", 2 provincial high-level professional groups-"New Energy Vehicle Technology Professional Group" and "Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation Professional Group", and 3 school-level key professional groups-"Construction Engineering Technology Professional Group", "Digital Media Technology Professional Group" and "E-commerce Professional Group"), forming a professional group talent training system that connects with industries, serves local areas, leads development, and highlights the characteristics of the natural resources industry. Cooperate with Jiangxi University of Science and Technology to carry out joint training of 5 majors, including computer science and technology, software engineering, applied chemistry, electronic science and technology, and surveying and mapping engineering, and cooperate with East China University of Technology to carry out joint training of 2 majors, including groundwater science and engineering and resource exploration engineering. There are 50 junior college majors, including 6 key majors supported by the central government and 2 national modern apprenticeship pilot majors. It has 4 national boutique online open courses, 2 national boutique courses, and 2 national boutique resource sharing courses. The school currently has 993 full-time teachers, 198 associate senior and above titles (including 46 professors), 622 masters and above (including 32 doctors), and 488 "dual-qualified" teachers. There is 1 teaching master in the National Special Support Plan for High-level Talents, 1 teacher enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council, 1 individual with outstanding contributions to the cultivation of national skilled talents, and 1 national outstanding teacher. The school deepens the integration of industry and education, and has established the school-owned enterprise Jiangxi Yingzhi College Technology Industry Co., Ltd., established the "Jiangxi Provincial Land and Resources Vocational Education Group" (a national model vocational education group cultivation unit), and co-built Xunfang Technology College, Geely Automobile Industry College, Huace Testing Industry College, Lijian Tianyan Industry College, Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College and other 5 industrial colleges with benchmarking enterprises and leading backbone enterprises in the industry. Currently, the Huichang County Mine Ecological Restoration Project, which is jointly undertaken with China Power Construction (Jiangxi Hydropower) with a total investment of 240 million yuan, has achieved initial results and has been listed as a pilot project for ecological restoration in the province. In 2021, the school successfully applied for the "Key Laboratory of Ionic Rare Earth Resources and Environment" of the Ministry of Natural Resources, becoming the first higher vocational college in Jiangxi Province to lead the construction of a ministerial key laboratory. The school and enterprises have jointly built 15 industry-education integration technology and skills innovation platforms and provincial skill master studios, including the ICT Science and Technology Innovation Center, the Industrial Robot Application Innovation Center, and the Artificial Intelligence R&D Center. Focusing on the national ecological civilization construction and the revitalization and development of the Southern Jiangxi Soviet Area, the technical service output value in the past five years has reached 197 million yuan, and the annual average technical service payment has exceeded 50 million yuan. The comprehensive benefits are among the best in similar universities in the country. The school pays attention to the cultivation of students' vocational skills, and students have repeatedly achieved good results in various vocational skills competitions. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, students participated in provincial and above skill competitions and won 831 awards, including 263 national awards and 74 national first prizes. Mathematical modeling leads the country and has won the highest national award four times. It is the vocational college with the most highest awards, first prizes and national awards in the country. The school is the world champion base for rock climbing. The competitive rock climbing results are the first in the country and world-class. It has trained 5 international athletes, 14 national athletes, and more than 30 national first-level athletes for the country. Rock climbing has won 23 world championships, 28 Asian championships, more than 260 national championships, and 10 world records. It is now the training base of the national rock climbing team. The Jiangxi Rock Climbing Association and the Jiangxi Rock Climbing Team are located in the school.
