Jiangxi Vocational College of Media is a public full-time general college approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. It is one of the main bases for cultivating talents in news publishing, radio, film and television in the country. It is affiliated to the Jiangxi Provincial Radio and Television Bureau. The college traces back to the Jiangxi Printing School founded in 1985. It was renamed Jiangxi Publishing School and Jiangxi News and Publishing School. In 2008, it was upgraded to Jiangxi News and Publishing Vocational and Technical College. In 2015, it was renamed Jiangxi Vocational College of Media. In December 2015, it was reorganized and merged with Jiangxi Radio, Film and Television School to establish a school with the name of Jiangxi Media Advanced Technical School. The college is the vice chairman unit of the National Media Vocational Education Alliance, the China (Jiangxi) Training Base for the Printing Media Technology Project of the World Skills Competition, and the National High-skilled Talent Training Base. It has won the titles of National Key Colleges of the News and Publishing System, National Advanced Collective of the News and Publishing System, Jiangxi Civilized Unit, and Nanchang Civilized Campus. The college has two campuses, located in Qingshan Lake District, Nanchang City and Jiangxiang National Ecological Demonstration Zone, Nanchang City, covering an area of more than 330 acres. There are 462 faculty members and nearly 11,000 students of all levels and types (including more than 9,300 higher vocational college students). Closely connected with the development needs of the press, publishing, radio, film and television industries, the university has set up majors (groups) such as film and television, publishing, creativity, digital media, and information. There are currently 32 majors (21-23 majors for regular enrollment), 1 major supported by the central government, 2 national demonstration majors in the press and publishing industry, and 2 provincial college specialty majors. It has been approved to carry out 7 majors such as the 1+X certificate system talent training pilot for integrated media technology and operation, and has built 3 provincial-level boutique online courses. In the past three years, teachers have won nearly 170 provincial and above awards for teaching and scientific research, including 8 provincial (ministerial) teaching achievement awards. Teachers and students have repeatedly won good results in vocational skills competitions, art design competitions, extracurricular academic and scientific works competitions, and other competitions. Student contestants have been selected for the national training team for the printing media technology project of the World Skills Competition for two consecutive sessions (the 45th and 46th), achieving a major historical breakthrough in the province's competition results in this event. The college adheres to the integration of production and education, and school-enterprise cooperation, and has established the Jiangxi Publishing Group Publishing and Media Training College and the Jiangxi Radio and Television Industry Media Training Center. In recent years, the annual average number of people undertaking various types of training in the industry and society has exceeded 6,000. It has been approved and built major practice platforms such as the Jiangxi Digital Printing Industrialization Incubation Center, Digital Imaging Skills Training Center, and Packaging and Printing Comprehensive Skills Training Center. At the same time, it has built more than 30 training venues such as hosting and broadcasting studios, online interview studios, film and television program production studios, design and creative studios, digital simulation and reproduction centers, digital media technology training rooms, e-commerce and live studios, and more than 150 closely cooperative off-campus internship bases. It has explored and constructed a "four-level progressive" talent training model of integrated classrooms, training rooms (studios), production training centers, and off-campus training and internship bases.
