Jilin Police College is a provincial public security undergraduate college in Jilin Province. Its predecessor was the Jilin Provincial Public Security Cadre School founded in 1949. It has gone through the development stages of Jilin Provincial Public Security School, Jilin Provincial Administrative Cadre School, Jilin Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School, Jilin Provincial People's Police School and Jilin Public Security College. It was upgraded to an undergraduate college in March 2010 and passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation of the Ministry of Education in 2018. The college has been established as a master's degree authorization unit to establish a Class A university, a pilot university for the comprehensive reform of "three-dimensional education" in Jilin Province, and an innovation and development center for ideological and political work in Jilin Province. The college is located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. It currently has two campuses in Jingyue and Leshan, covering an area of 460,000 square meters and a building area of 190,000 square meters. There are 19 undergraduate majors, covering disciplines such as law, engineering, management, literature, and art. There are nearly 8,000 full-time students on campus, and more than 5,000 on-the-job police officers are trained each year. Public security and public security technology have been established as high-level disciplines with characteristics in Jilin Province. Build 3 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 5 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 key major construction site of the Ministry of Public Security, 1 provincial brand major, and 5 provincial characteristic high-level majors. Build 2 national first-class undergraduate courses, 15 provincial boutique, excellent courses, and "gold courses", and 5 provincial first-class undergraduate courses with virtual simulation experimental teaching. Build 2 key laboratories of Jilin universities, 1 engineering research center of Jilin universities, 2 key research bases of humanities and social sciences of Jilin universities, and 1 new think tank with Jilin characteristics of Jilin universities. The college currently has 425 faculty members, including 41 senior professional titles, 90 associate senior professional titles, 55 teachers with doctoral degrees, 214 teachers with master's degrees, 4 national public security higher education teaching masters, 6 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Jilin Province, and 4 famous teachers in Jilin universities. The college has always adhered to the purpose of serving Jilin's public security work and public security team building, and serving Jilin's economic and social development. It has inherited the school motto of "serving the country and honoring the police, observing oneself and cultivating oneself", implemented the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, and cultivated the school characteristics of "interaction between the college and the bureau, combination of police and academy, and training talents closely related to actual combat". In the 74 years since its establishment, the college has trained and sent more than 50,000 graduates to the political and legal system and all walks of life, and trained more than 100,000 on-the-job police officers. It is known as the "cradle of Jilin people's police."
