Jinan Preschool Teachers College was established in April 2011. It was formed by the merger of the former Shandong Jinan Normal School, Shandong Jinan Preschool Teachers School and Jinan Radio and Television University. It is a comprehensive normal college that mainly trains preschool and primary education teachers. As the birthplace of Shandong normal education, the school has a long history of running schools. In October 1902 (August of the 28th year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), the Qing government approved the establishment of a normal school in Shandong University Hall, which was the beginning of the school's history and Shandong normal education. After that, the school has undergone several changes and has gone through different stages such as Shandong Normal School, Shandong Superior Normal School, National Shandong Higher Normal School, Shandong Provincial First Normal School, Shandong Provincial Jinan Normal School, Jinan First Normal School, Shandong Jinan Normal School, etc. After liberation, Jinan Women's Normal School and Jinan Second Normal School were successively merged into Shandong Jinan Normal School. The school enjoys the reputation of "a hundred years of red normal school". In early 1950, Jinan Normal School set up a kindergarten teacher class to recruit students, which marked the beginning of Shandong Province's training of kindergarten teachers. In September 1952, according to the decision of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, the kindergarten teacher department of Jinan Normal School was separated to form Shandong Jinan Preschool Teachers School. Jinan Preschool Teachers College is one of the first five kindergarten teachers established in New China. Its establishment marks the independent establishment of Shandong's kindergarten teacher training institutions, and Shandong Province's preschool teacher education has been on the right track since then. In April 2011, with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the former Shandong Jinan Normal School and Shandong Jinan Preschool Teachers School were merged and upgraded to Jinan Preschool Teachers College. Jinan Radio and Television University was established in February 1979, and has gone through different stages such as Jinan TV University Workstation, Shandong Radio and Television University Jinan Branch and Jinan Radio and Television University. In August 2012, Jinan Radio and Television University was merged into Jinan Preschool Teachers College. The school currently has two campuses, Changqing Campus and Minghu Campus, with a total area of 479,400 square meters (719.85 acres) and a building area of 175,100 square meters, of which 113,400 square meters are for teaching and administration. The total value of fixed assets is 791.87 million yuan, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 73.9479 million yuan. There are 707,700 paper books, 242,500 electronic books, 681 Chinese paper professional journals, and 326,100 electronic journals. There are 2 affiliated primary schools, 13 affiliated kindergartens, 49 on-campus practice bases, and 223 off-campus internship and training bases. There are Jinan Party History Education Base-Wang Jinmei and the Exhibition Hall of the Early Party Organization of the Communist Party of China and a school history hall of nearly 700 square meters. The school takes the training of excellent kindergarten teachers as its mission and the construction of a distinctive applied kindergarten teacher training college as its vision. It focuses on all areas of children's growth and development, connects with the optimization and improvement of regional basic education and the development of infant and child care industries, and has formed a school-running pattern with teacher education as its feature, non-teacher education majors as its expansion, and pre-service education and post-service education integrated. After more than ten years of development, the school now has 9 secondary colleges. Wang Jinmei Ideological and Political Education College, Preschool Education College, Primary Education College, Art College, Information Business College, and Physical Education College are full-time education colleges. There are 9 normal education majors, including preschool education, primary education, primary Chinese education, primary mathematics education, primary English education, music education, art education, physical education, and dance education. There are 14 non-normal education majors, including big data and accounting, digital media technology, marketing, financial technology application, big data technology, e-commerce, art design, early education, infant care services and management, artificial intelligence technology application, study tour management and services, social sports, Chinese, and traditional ethnic sports; among them, primary education and preschool education are national backbone majors, and the preschool child care service professional group and the primary school teacher education professional group are high-level professional groups in Shandong Province. The school deepens the integration of production and education, innovates talent training models, and strengthens school-enterprise cooperation. There are now 10 majors jointly built by schools and enterprises, and 2 industrial colleges jointly built by schools and enterprises. The School of Distance Education, the School of Continuing Education, and the School of Community Education are mainly adult education, continuing education, and community education. In addition, the school's early childhood education group has 13 kindergartens with more than 5,000 children enrolled. The school has been named "Provincial Civilized Unit" and "Provincial Spiritual Civilization Campus" by the Shandong Provincial Civilization Committee, and has been awarded "The First Batch of Red Culture Inheritance Demonstration Schools in the Province", "Provincial Advanced Unit for Teacher Education", "The First Batch of Shandong Province's New Education Informatization Pilot Work Informatization Demonstration Units", and "The Third Batch of Shandong Province's 'Smart Education Demonstration Zone (School)' Creation Units" by the Provincial Department of Education. It has been named "The Third Batch of Provincial Environmental Education Bases" by the Provincial Department of Environmental Protection and the Provincial Department of Education, and has been rated as "The Advanced Collective of Ideological and Political Education Work in Colleges and Universities in the Province" by the Shandong Provincial Party Committee University Working Committee, and has been praised by the media as the "Whampoa Military Academy" of Shandong's preschool education community.
