Jiuzhou Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1993 and is a full-time provincial private college. The college is located at the southern foot of Xuzhou Quanshan Scenic Area, adjacent to Xuzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The college has a building area of 150,000 square meters, and has built teaching, training, living and cultural and sports facilities to accommodate 8,000 students. The college actively strengthens joint education with surrounding strong schools including China University of Mining and Technology, sharing superior teachers and school resources. The college currently has a total of more than 400 teachers of various types, and the proportion of double-teacher quality among full-time teachers is 71.68%, and undertakes more than 200 various teaching and research projects. Since its establishment, it has provided the society with 50,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents. The college currently has teaching units such as the School of Mechanical and Electrical and Automotive Engineering, the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Economics and Management, the Department of Social Public Services, the School of Aviation, the School of Medical and Health, the Department of Public Basic Courses, the School of Continuing Education, and the School of Marxism. The college has three affiliated hospitals, including the Xuzhou Xinjiankang Hospital, the Suqian Shuyang Hospital, and the Xuzhou Qianghua Hospital. In accordance with the school-enterprise cooperation idea of "cooperative schooling, cooperative education, cooperative employment, and cooperative development", the school deepens the integration of production and education, and has carried out multi-form and multi-mode cooperation with more than 80 enterprises and schools. At the same time, the college is oriented to career-oriented needs, and undertakes more than 4,000 social trainings per year, providing human resources support for regional economic development. The college has built 8 functional training areas such as rehabilitation therapy and construction engineering, a total of 97 on-campus experimental training rooms, 43 close-knit off-campus internship training bases, and established corporate practice teaching departments in 19 enterprises, and hired relevant persons in charge of the enterprises as directors of the practice teaching departments. The college and listed companies Yunyi Electric Co., Ltd., Huaihai Holding Group and other units have jointly built and shared training bases with an area of 83,000 square meters, and the total value of shared training equipment is nearly 40 million yuan. At present, the college has built one Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center-Jiangsu Higher Vocational Colleges Prefabricated Underground Pipe Gallery Engineering Technology Research and Development Center; 2 municipal engineering technology research centers-Xuzhou Prefabricated Building Informatization Cloud Engineering Technology Research Center, Xuzhou Permeable Concrete Detection Engineering Technology Research Center. The college's school-running level and talent training quality have been continuously improved, and its school-running characteristics have gradually emerged. Some landmark construction achievements have been made in quality engineering construction: our college's construction engineering technology major has been selected as a provincial high-level backbone major; our college's rehabilitation therapy technology major has been approved as a special major and key construction major in Xuzhou City and has been approved to lead the city. The college has built two provincial characteristic majors - construction engineering technology and applied electronic technology; it has a provincial higher vocational and technical college experimental training demonstration base - electronic and embedded system technology training base. Three majors, construction engineering technology, mechatronics technology, and automobile inspection and maintenance technology, have been selected as Xuzhou's brand characteristic majors; and three cooperative enterprises have been selected as Xuzhou's "school-enterprise cooperation demonstration enterprises". The college pays attention to the quality and efficiency of school-running, and pays attention to the connotation construction of the college's development. In November 2014, the college successfully passed the talent training work evaluation of higher vocational colleges organized by the Provincial Department of Education. The college has played its role in serving the society and has hosted large-scale sports events and social activities including the Provincial Games for many times.
