Jizhong Vocational College is affiliated to the People's Government of Baoding City. It is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is located in the cultural city of Dingzhou City. It has a long history of running schools and enjoys the reputation of "a thousand-year-old academy, a hundred-year-old normal school". In 1916, the Zhili Dingxian Women's Normal School was founded, which wrote a wonderful chapter of a hundred years of normal education. For more than a century, the school has nurtured students all over the world, cultivated countless pillars of talent for the country, and made important contributions to the cause of education. The college currently has two campuses in the north and south. The predecessor of the South Campus was the Hebei Dingzhou Normal School. On March 5, 1947, the school was named "Jizhong District First Normal School"; on August 1, 1949, the school was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Education Department of the Hebei Provincial People's Government and renamed "Hebei Provincial Dingxian Normal School" for short "Provincial Teacher". In 1986, when Dingxian was upgraded to a city, the school was renamed "Hebei Dingzhou Normal School". The North Campus was formerly the Hebei Dingzhou Computer Normal School, which was founded in 1983 and was named "Dingxian Normal School". In December 1997, it was approved by the Hebei Provincial Government to be rebuilt into the Hebei Dingzhou Computer Normal School, which is affiliated to the Dingzhou Education Bureau. In March 2002, the former Hebei Dingzhou Normal School and the former Hebei Dingzhou Computer Normal School were merged and rebuilt into the Dingzhou Branch of Baoding Normal College. In July 2006, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded and rebuilt into Jizhong Vocational College, becoming a full-time general higher vocational college. The college is located in Dingzhou City and is affiliated to the Baoding Education Bureau. The college has two campuses, north and south, covering an area of 103,000 square meters, a building area of 84,000 square meters, and currently has 6,115 students. The college has a team of teachers who are professional, innovative and dedicated. There are 322 faculty members, including 62 teachers with master's degrees, 1 doctoral student, 77 teachers with associate senior titles or above, 3 candidates for the third level of Hebei Province's "Three Three Three Talent Project", 1 model teacher in Hebei Province, 9 new century academic and technical leaders in Baoding City, 6 famous teachers in Baoding City, and 85% of dual-qualified teachers. The college has five departments and one department: Department of Education, Department of Economics and Management, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Architecture and Art, and Department of Marxism Teaching (Department of Public and Ideological and Political Teaching). It offers 24 higher vocational majors such as preschool education, primary education, big data and accounting, tourism, architecture, mechanical and electrical, automobiles, and computers, covering liberal arts, science, engineering, management, business, and education. In March 2022, the college was selected as one of the first pilot institutions of the Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Project (SGAVE) (Automotive Field).
