Lanzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology was established in May 2013 on the basis of the former Lanzhou Information Engineering Vocational School. It was evaluated by the Provincial Department of Education, approved by the Provincial Government, and filed with the Ministry of Education. It is a comprehensive higher vocational college with full-time general higher vocational education as the main body, and technical skills training for society, industry, and enterprises in various forms as the two wings, integrating academic education and professional qualification technical skills training. The college is located in Lanzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, covering an area of 478,898.5 square meters and a total construction area of more than 225,591 square meters. The college library has 254,000 paper books, more than 70,000 electronic books, and more than 11,000 electronic reading machine journals. The total area of teaching, auxiliary, and administrative office rooms is 211,000 square meters, and the teaching equipment is worth 280 million yuan. Through the strategy of strengthening the school with teachers, the college has introduced and cultivated a team of teachers with strong professional ability, high comprehensive quality, and love for education. At present, the college has 442 faculty members, 408 full-time teachers; 203 "dual-qualified" teachers, accounting for 49.8% of the total number of teachers. The college has 7 teaching units, including the School of Nursing, the School of Medical Technology, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Finance and Commerce, the School of Marxism, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Veterans. The college has established 16 tertiary hospitals, including the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University, Zhangye People's Hospital affiliated to Hexi University, Qingyang People's Hospital, Gansu Rehabilitation Center Hospital, and 12 second-class hospitals, including Wuwei Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, as student internship hospitals; Linxia Prefecture Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Baiyin Central Hospital as teaching hospitals; and 18 enterprises, including Geely Group, as off-campus internship bases. In recent years, our college has thoroughly implemented and studied the important expositions on education and the spirit of the national and provincial education conferences, and fully implemented the party's education policy.
