Liaoning Railway Vocational and Technical College is a provincial public full-time higher vocational college. It is one of the first batch of vocational education reform and development demonstration schools in Liaoning Province and the construction unit of "Xingliao Excellent" higher vocational colleges in Liaoning Province. Founded in 1948, it was named the 7th and 8th Brigade of the Northeast People's Liberation Army Railway Column. In 1952, it was transferred to the Jinzhou Railway Staff School of the Ministry of Railways. It was one of the first eight railway transportation vocational schools in New China. In 2008, Jinzhou Railway Transport School was upgraded to a higher vocational college and its current name was changed. 1. Conditions for running the school The school is located in Jinzhou City. It has two campuses, Linghe and Shuangling, covering an area of 406 acres and a building area of 167,000 square meters. There are currently 80 on-campus training rooms, 75 off-campus training bases, 1 national-level demonstration virtual simulation training base, 1 provincial-level demonstration virtual simulation training base, and 1 production (operation) training base. The school is one of the first batch of national demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation units and the first batch of pilot schools for the construction of vocational education digital campuses by the Ministry of Education. The school is a national-level pilot institution for the construction of industry-education integration majors. It has taken the lead in building a rail transit industry-education integration center training base with China Railway Group, Shenyang Metro, Dalian Metro and other enterprises and was selected into the National Education Power Promotion Project. 2. Teachers The school currently has 373 faculty members, including 299 full-time teachers, 132 with deputy senior professional titles or above, 205 with master's degrees or above, and "double-qualified" teachers account for 81%. Talent training The school currently has 8,590 full-time higher vocational college students. There are 35 majors offered, among which the railway signal automatic control major is a national-level demonstration major, 3 majors such as railway transportation operation management are national-level backbone majors, and the modern communication technology major is one of the first batch of industry-education integration pilot majors of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In the past five years, it has won 1 national teaching achievement award and 3 quality online open courses; 19 provincial teaching achievement awards and 17 quality online open courses. In recent years, 60% of graduates have found employment and entrepreneurship in Liaoning. Among the graduates, "Locomotive Medal" winners, "All-Road Technical Experts" and "All-Road Outstanding Communist Party Members" continue to emerge. 4. Social services In the past five years, the school has been approved for 201 patents and served 15 horizontal projects for enterprises; it has provided social training for employees working in railway transportation positions in railways, subways, ports, steel, mining and petrochemical enterprises in the province on an average of 15,000 per year.
