Liaoning University of Technology is a multidisciplinary applied university with engineering as its main discipline and coordinated development of science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law, and art. It was founded in 1951 and has gone through the development stages of "Jinzhou Institute of Technology" and "Liaoning Institute of Technology". It was renamed "Liaoning University of Technology" in March 2007. The school was selected as a key construction university of the national "Basic Capacity Construction Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China" in 2013, and was approved as the first batch of demonstration universities in Liaoning Province to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in 2016. In 2017, it was approved as a demonstration university for the transformation of ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities in Liaoning Province to application-oriented universities.
