Lingnan University (Lingnan) is Hong Kong's liberal arts university and has the oldest history among local higher education institutions. The history of Lingnan can be traced back to 1888, when its predecessor "Ge Chi College" was founded in Guangzhou. It was later reestablished in Hong Kong under the name of Lingnan College in 1967. In 2015, Lingnan was named one of the “Top Ten Liberal Arts Colleges in Asia” by Forbes. Lingnan offers undergraduate courses, course-based postgraduate courses, Master of Philosophy/PhD programs and covers the areas of humanities, business and social sciences. The comprehensive curriculum includes general studies and interdisciplinary subjects to consolidate students' knowledge in different disciplines. knowledge base. These programs include the "ASEAN Internship Program", "Global Internship Program", "Disney World Summer Exchange and Work Program" and "Greater China Summer Internship Program", etc. In addition, about 85% of Lingnan University students have the opportunity to go to more than 210 overseas partner institutions of the University in about 43 countries to be exchange students for a semester or participate in summer courses. Lingnan University also adheres to the school motto of "Cultivating Talents to Serve the Society" and provides students with service learning and other opportunities to serve the society, so that they can stay connected with the community and help those in need. Lingnan encourages its teachers and students to contribute to society through research and knowledge transfer. We have many experienced researchers from the humanities, business and social sciences. Half of the more than 180 faculty members at Lingnan University have international academic training and research work experience; and more than 300 overseas exchange students study at Lingnan University every year. We also conduct research in collaboration with academics from universities in Asia and around the world. In addition, Lingnan University became a member of the World Alliance of Liberal Arts Universities in April 2012.
