Its predecessor was the Chuzhou Planting School founded by Chuzhou Governor Xiao Wenzhao in 1910. In December 2000, it was formed by the merger and upgrading of the former Zhejiang Forestry School and Zhejiang Lishui Commercial School. It is now a Zhejiang Province Demonstration Vocational College, a Zhejiang Province Civilized Unit, a National Model Unit for Greening, and a Zhejiang Province Digital Campus Demonstration School. In 2020, it was successfully selected as a high-level vocational college construction unit in Zhejiang Province, and the two professional groups of forestry technology and accounting were selected as high-level construction professional groups in Zhejiang Province (Class A). The school headquarters covers an area of 470 acres, and the Green Valley Campus in the development zone covers an area of 35 acres. There are more than 9,000 ordinary full-time students and 507 faculty and staff. Among them, there are 24 professors and 138 associate professors and other associate senior professional teachers. There are 3 provincial excellent teaching teams, and more than 60 high-level talents such as provincial teaching masters and provincial excellent teachers. The school has 8 secondary colleges and 31 majors, including forestry technology, architecture and design, mechanical and electrical engineering, accounting, business administration, tourism and trade, continuing education (ecology and economy), and the School of Marxism. There are 1 key construction major of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, 4 national backbone majors, 2 provincial double-high professional groups, 4 advantageous majors, and 4 characteristic majors. Since 2016, it has cooperated with Zhejiang Agricultural and Forestry University to hold targeted training for undergraduate majors in forestry (forestry technology). The achievements of professional construction have won 3 national teaching achievement awards and 6 provincial teaching achievement awards. There are 1 national high-quality resource sharing course, 1 national curriculum ideological and political demonstration course, 7 national teaching resource library courses, and 3 provincial high-quality online open courses; 45 national planning textbooks for vocational education have been edited. The school adheres to the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and helps to implement the "Rural Revitalization Strategy". The total area of on-campus teaching and training venues is 112,600 square meters, with 3 central financial support training bases and 4 provincial demonstration training bases. There are 318 off-campus training bases, including more than 200 close-knit bases. In 2019, the Sino-German school-running and district-school-running projects were launched. In cooperation with the Berlin Vocational Education Group of Germany and Lishui Economic Development Zone, the Sino-German (Lishui) Vocational Education Base, the Sino-German (Lishui) Education Engineer Training Certification Center, and the Sino-German (Lishui) Cross-Enterprise Training Center were built to innovate the operation model of the training base. The pilot work of the 1+X certificate system was launched, and 42 "1+X" grade certificate pilots were promoted in 19 related majors. Lishui Farmers College, Lishui Vocational Education Group and other platforms promote the development of local pillar industries, cooperate with the Institute of Japanese Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to build the "Japanese Rural Research Center", Zhejiang Development Planning Institute, and the municipal government to support the construction of the "Zhejiang Big Garden Construction Research Institute", providing theoretical support for Lishui to further promote rural revitalization. The school has won 2 National Social Science Fund projects, 1 key project of the Ministry of Education in the National Education and Science Planning, 2 humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education, 1 ethnic research project of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, and 63 provincial and ministerial-level and above projects. The school continues to improve the quality of talent training around the fundamental issues of what kind of people to cultivate, how to cultivate people, and for whom to cultivate people. The average first employment rate of school graduates is over 98%.
