Maoming Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college mainly focusing on engineering. It is a high-level higher vocational college construction college (cultivation unit) in Guangdong Province and has been rated as a civilized campus in Maoming City. The school is located in Maoming City, Guangdong Province, the largest petrochemical production base and fruit production base in southern China, the hometown of architecture, and a beautiful coastal city. It covers an area of 666,000 square meters (about 1,000 acres) and is divided into three campuses: North Campus, South Campus, and Renmin South Campus. The school was founded in 1986. Adhering to the school motto of "cultivating morality, strengthening skills, seeking truth and innovation", adhering to the talent training goal of "values + knowledge + skills + innovation", and carrying forward the school spirit of "hard work and self-improvement", it has cultivated a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents and made important contributions to the construction industry, petrochemical industry and local economic and social development. The talent training school recruits students from 13 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) across the country. There are currently 44 enrollment majors, 42 of which match Maoming's key industries, with a matching degree of 95.45%. There are more than 15,900 full-time ordinary higher vocational students. There is one national teaching resource library sub-project, one national intangible heritage flower-tiaopeng inheritance base, four provincial-level boutique courses, provincial-level boutique resource sharing courses, and provincial-level boutique online open courses, and 110 school-level boutique online open courses. The petrochemical technology professional group and the construction engineering technology professional group have been approved as provincial high-level professional groups, and the petrochemical technology major has passed the IEET (TAC-AD) professional certification. 231 off-campus internship practice bases have been jointly built with enterprises, 14 on-campus training rooms have been jointly built, and 118 order classes have been jointly opened; 8 industrial colleges have been jointly built with government departments and well-known enterprises. In the past three years, it has won 2 first prizes and 1 second prize in the provincial teaching achievement award. Students have won a total of 353 awards in skill competitions at or above the provincial level, including 12 first prizes. The overall employment rate of graduates is above 96%. The teaching staff has more than 130 senior professional titles, more than 300 people with doctoral and master's degrees, more than 320 dual-qualified teachers, and 70 visiting professors. In recent years, teachers have won 26 awards in provincial teaching ability competitions. A group of teachers have won the titles of Guangdong Provincial Model Workers, Outstanding Teachers of South Guangdong, Outstanding Educators of South Guangdong, Outstanding Talents and Outstanding Experts of Maoming City. Scientific Research and Social Service The school currently has two provincial engineering technology research centers, including the Guangdong Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center and the Guangdong Fine Chemicals (Western Guangdong) Engineering Technology Research Center, one Guangdong BIM Technology Application Collaborative Innovation Center, and 14 municipal engineering technology research centers. It has presided over more than 230 research projects at or above the municipal level. It has established national professional qualification appraisal test sites for 13 types of work, including engineering surveying, chemical testing, CNC lathes, electricians, and electrical equipment installation. It is the only higher vocational college with the first-level training qualification for fishery crew members in Guangdong Province, and the only national BIM application skills test site in western Guangdong.
