The School of Medicine of Jinzhou Medical University is located on the coast of the Bohai Sea, in Jinzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in western Liaoning with beautiful scenery. It is an undergraduate-level, full-time private general higher education institution organized by Jinzhou Medical University and has independent legal personality. Its predecessor was the former Jinzhou Medical College Branch founded in July 1999. It was one of the second-level branches organized by nine universities in Liaoning Province at that time. In March 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and transformed into an independent college according to the new mechanism and new model. In August 2006, along with the renaming of Jinzhou Medical College to Liaoning Medical College, it was renamed as the Medical College of Liaoning Medical College. In March 2016, as the Liaoning Medical College was renamed as Jinzhou Medical University, it was renamed as the Medical College of Jinzhou Medical University. The college is based in Liaoning and recruits students from 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country. It currently has more than 6,000 full-time undergraduate students.
