Minjiang Normal College is a full-time public general college run by the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government. It is an old school with a history of more than 100 years of normal education. Its predecessor was the Quanmin Normal School, which was founded in 1903 and is known as the "Source of Fujian Teachers". In more than a century of school history, it has trained many experts and scholars, people of lofty ideals and lofty ideals at home and abroad, such as Bing Xin, Lin Mohan, Deng Tuo, and Weng Liangyu, as well as thousands of principals and tens of thousands of teachers such as Lv Ronglin, a model of the times, and trained a generation of representative performing artists and Wang Jinping, a national moral model, and many other high-quality technical and skilled talents, making positive contributions to economic and social development. General Secretary Xi Jinping wrote the inscription "Rigorous Scholarship, Fragrance of Peaches and Plums" for our school during his tenure as Secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee. The school is one of the first batch of healthy schools in the country, a civilized campus in Fujian Province, a model modern vocational college in Fujian Province, a construction unit of the Fujian Province High-level Vocational College and Professional Construction Plan, and a construction unit of the Fujian Province Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creativity Education Demonstration College. The school's development potential ranks among the top higher vocational colleges in the province. The school currently has six campuses, including Qishan Campus, Cangshan Campus, Ganzhe Campus, Fuqing Campus, Guanglufang Campus, and Gongye Road Campus, covering an area of 1,042.39 acres and a building area of 393,000 square meters. The school has 12 teaching units, including 7 directly-managed units such as Fuzhou Art School, Fujian Fuqing Health School and Affiliated Experimental Primary School, 4 Affiliated Kindergartens, and 2 guidance units such as Affiliated Yongtai Kindergarten and Affiliated Yongtai Primary School, and has approved the construction of an affiliated middle school. There are 748 faculty members (including affiliated primary schools and kindergartens) and 596 full-time college teachers. There is currently one person enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council, one national intangible cultural heritage inheritor, two Chinese drama "Plum Blossom Award", and 24 provincial famous teachers of various types. There is one provincial skill master studio and one provincial teacher teaching innovation team. The school is the implementation school of the Fujian Provincial Teacher Education Revitalization Plan, training general primary school teachers and kindergarten teachers. It is a college that undertakes the public-funded normal male training plan for primary education and preschool education in Fujian Province. It is the only higher vocational college in the province that undertakes the Fujian opera performing arts talents. The school offers 41 majors in teacher training, engineering, art, and medical care, with more than 12,000 full-time students and nearly 6,000 part-time students, and trains an average of 30,000 trainees per year. Among them, there are 28 national-level professional construction projects and 48 provincial-level professional construction projects. At present, there are 1 national-level vocational education group (alliance), 2 provincial-level vocational education groups, and 2 municipal-level vocational education groups. There are 6 provincial-level higher vocational colleges, 10 provincial-level training bases, and 31 national and provincial-level training bases. The school insists on collaborative education between government, schools, and enterprises, and has established the Minjiang Cultural Tourism Performing Arts Vocational Education Group, Fuzhou Minjiang Vocational Education Alliance, Fujian Minjiang Opera Art Development Alliance, Fuzhou Preschool Education Group, and Fuzhou Health Care Vocational Education Group. It has built Huawei Information Technology College, IoT Smart Life Experience and Research Center, IoT Productive Training Base, Automobile Training Base, Fujian VR/AR Vocational Education Training Base, Overseas Chinese Teacher Training Center, Food and Drug Testing Technology Joint Laboratory, and Chemical Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal Station. The school has established a school board with the mayor of Fuzhou Municipal People's Government as the chairman, and has established a close and sustainable cooperative school-running mechanism with co-education of talents, co-management of processes, sharing of results, sharing of responsibilities, and mutual benefit and win-win. The school actively responds to the national "Belt and Road" initiative and undertakes the key project of "Connecting with the National Strategy to Build Maritime Fuzhou" by the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. Implement projects such as Chinese basic education teacher training in countries along the Maritime Silk Road, "Studying in Fujian Teachers", and "Belt and Road" bilingual business talent training, recruit foreign students, train primary and secondary school and kindergarten teachers in countries along the route, and create overseas basic education teacher training brands. In 2021, the Cambodian Chinese Basic Education Teacher Training Project was selected as a characteristic cooperation project of China-ASEAN higher vocational colleges. In 2022, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education for foreign aid projects. The school adheres to the school motto of "cultivating noble spirit and broad benevolence", adheres to the spirit of "establishing education in Fujian and nurturing the world", takes moral education as the fundamental task, actively promotes the reform of talent training mode, forms the "Bingxin Culture" Fujian Teachers' quality education mode, and comprehensively improves the quality of talent training. In the past five years, the teacher teaching ability competition has won 6 national awards and 47 provincial awards; the student vocational skills competition has won 146 national awards and 644 provincial awards; won 1 national teaching achievement award and 10 provincial teaching achievement awards; the award-winning results are all among the top vocational colleges in the province. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%, among which the employment rate of normal schools has remained at the forefront of similar colleges in the province, and the employment rate of non-teacher schools has remained above 98%.
