Nanchang Film and Television Communication Vocational College was founded in 2015. It is a full-time ordinary private higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, filed with the Ministry of Education of China, included in the national plan for unified enrollment, mainly focusing on film and television communication majors, and has the qualification to independently issue nationally recognized university diplomas. It is one of the first members of the construction project of the integrated ideological and political courses of primary, secondary and high schools in Jiangxi Province and the second batch of language and character standardization demonstration schools in Jiangxi Province. The school is located in the Nanchang High-tech Industrial Zone, on the bank of the beautiful Ganjiang River, a 10-minute drive from the downtown area of Nanchang. The school has multiple educational platforms such as the industry-education integration center, maker space, and Starlight Entrepreneurship Street. It has built more than 50 on-campus experimental training centers and more than 100 off-campus internship training bases. It has established a digital network, and smart teaching has been initially formed. Graduates are well received by the society and employers. The school currently has "four departments, two departments and two colleges". The "four departments" are the Department of Film and Television Media, the Department of Music and Dance, the Department of Art Design, and the Department of Cultural Management; the "two departments" are the Department of Ideological and Political Education and the Department of Basic Teaching; the "two colleges" are the School of International Education and the School of Continuing Education. The school implements professional layout closely following the characteristics of film and television media and art communication industries. It has now opened 25 majors including dance performance, drama and film performance, digital media technology, advertising art design, preschool education, e-commerce, big data and accounting, computer application technology, etc., and has built four major professional groups including film and television media, music and dance, art design, and cultural management. The school actively serves the society, and its school-running achievements are becoming increasingly prominent. In recent years, teachers and students of the school have won 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes, and more than 20 third prizes in the previous college student art performances in Jiangxi Province; and have won honors in various events such as the Provincial Games, the National Youth Cheerleading Elite Competition, the College Student Science and Technology Innovation Competition, the Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, the College Photography Art Works Competition, and the College Student Art Exhibition. For three consecutive years, it has been awarded the "Best Cooperation Unit" by the Jiangxi Activities of the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival.
